Granted I&#8217;m no history buff\u2014I enjoy it but cannot call myself as knowledgeable as I&#8217;d like to\u2014or art history major, but these are just my interpretations &amp; observations. Little notes from my recently acquired\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archiegrand.com\/\">Archie Grand<\/a>\u00a0(!) notebook:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Recumbent lion&#8221; = imposing lion guards entrance to a sanctuary, symbol of royalty as lions were the most powerful predator of the steppes bordering the Nile River. apparently females\u2014the lionesses\u2014embodied deities (!)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Similarities between Roman-ruled Egyptian &amp; Eastern styles&#8230; depiction of animals, demons. there&#8217;s a discrepancy in artistic style within Egyptian art that toggle between Eastern influences and Roman influences?<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Favorite period&#8230; Macedonian Ptolemaic Periods&#8230; Cleopatra?!<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shroud of a woman in Egyptian dress&#8230; sexuality &amp; femininity emphasized always<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Funery papyrus of\u00a0<em>Sethnakhte<\/em>, who adores Osiris, flanked by Nephthys on the left &amp; Isis on the right<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vivid, soothing color palette of paintings&#8230; rich camels, teals, creamy whites.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A<\/strong><strong>doring the depiction of women<\/strong>; there&#8217;s a <strong>reverence for the female sex<\/strong> present in their artwork (deities &amp; lionesses, etc.). emphasis on female sexuality as well, uninhibited but nothing vulgar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_805\" style=\"width:
