Needless to say it\u2019s my favorite of the six courses I have this semester. I\u2019ve been writing more: on benches around campus, in cafes, in bakeries\u2014observing, people watching, and simply taking in everything (but now that the weather is less than lovely, I\u2019ve settled for the dining hall or study lounges). It started as an exercise for Creative Writing, observing in the courtyard and taking note of the sensory experience.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">I like walking. I <em>really<\/em> like walking, actually. I get off at least one bus stop earlier solely for that purpose. It\u2019s fantastic exercise (I\u2019ve lost weight, thank goodness, rather than gain the dreaded Freshman 15), and incredibly relaxing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">My breakfast of choice consists of three hazelnut coffees and a croissant. My dining hall fails at producing anything edible, let alone visually appealing, but somehow the coffee is decent (<em>phew!<\/em>) and the croissants are strangely <em>delicieux<\/em>. Perfectly crescent shaped, a bit flaky on the surface, and layered to buttery, melt-in-your mouth smoothness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sitting under those black benches under lofty trees is so, so clich\u00e9 but it really is relaxing, and makes for the perfect setting for writing\/reading. It\u2019s all picture perfect until the bottom of my Macbook starts burning my thighs, though.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">I\u2019ve been featured on <em>Her Campus<\/em>, twice! First as a blurb under their \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hercampus.com\/school\/rider\/beyond-obsessed-blogs-we-love\"><strong>Blogs We Love<\/strong><\/a>\u201d section, and then an <a href=\"http:\/\/hercampus.com\/school\/rider\/beyond-obsessed-kimberly-pearl?page=show\"><strong>interview<\/strong><\/a>. The girls are super sweet\u2014thank you HC! Head on over if you\u2019d like to know a bit more about yours truly, and for adorable <a href=\"http:\/\/abitcoquettish.wordpress.com\/2010\/08\/24\/what-to-wear-in-college\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>college tips<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0I&#8217;m blushing:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cReading this blog, and judging by the sophistication air, you would never guess that the author is merely an eighteen year old, recent freshmen. Kimberly Pearl\u2019s blog is the exemplification of a young woman who, \u201cloves to flirt with life.\u201d It\u2019s witty, fashion-drenched and refreshingly original. We die for her blog because unlike so many other bloggers, her writing is impeccable and juicy. The best part is her [French], Parisian flair. It has that \u201cit\u201d feeling, that je ne sais quoi factor.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">I\u2019ve realized that I cannot go a week without dancing. And a day without some sort of caffeinated beverage paired with carbs. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aubonpain.com\/\"><strong>Au Bon Pain<\/strong><\/a> is my new favorite spot, it trumps Starbucks in baked goods (bagel twists with white chocolate and toffee, cinnamon scones, toffee cookies\u2026) and food (Mediterranean wraps!). Aesthetics and vibe-wise though, Starbucks wins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vegetables make me insanely happy. Ordering (and consuming, no less) hummus pita and making a massive salad at the dinner take-out bar\u2014these were on separate nights, of course!\u2014were highlights of my day(s).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Confession of the Week: I wore a hoodie out\u2014for breakfast. Friday, actually. The weather was pretty shit-tastic, I had a late night, and well\u2026 I did wear them with skinny jeans and heeled boots. So it wasn\u2019t too bad.
