If I should ever book a flight to Barcelona on a whim one summer – carry-on slung effortlessly over one shoulder, bags in hand, with a sexy Spaniard accompanying me – then I shall wear this. I have quite the predilection for all things o f f – t h e – s h o u l d e r s (as many of you have witnessed). But with ruffles? I swoon! With one end tied in a knot to reveal a bit of a tanned midriff, and paired with loose, jersey-knit balloon pants – the look is altogether quite exotic and carefree. Wavy tousled hair, a leather cross-body bag on one shoulder, and strappy sandals for the day, finished with piles of gold chinas the leather bracelets. Substitute the bag with a clutch, and sandals for a pair of strappy heels for the evening. Je l’adore!
And why my obsession with ruffles? They epitomize femininity as a sophisticated take on a girlish, but polished look. Layered for added dimension or an ethereal, cake-like appearance. The possibilities are endless!
