Looks 4, 14, 18, 20

If most designers this season were future-minded, Conner Ives was of the moment. Mood, mindset, and energy of 2022 (inspired by a Gen Z anti-establishment philosophy) are captured perfectly—profoundly, even—in Ives’ fall collection. There’s kitsch and a tiny bit of camp thrown in, which is just what our wardrobes needed after these past two years.

The message? Fashion isn’t that serious, and you don’t need permission to play. (They’re just clothes, you know?)

And while scrolling through each look, I couldn’t help but think: these are exactly the kind of outfits that our favorite sex columnist, Carrie Bradshaw, would throw on while attempting to clean her kitchen (see look 14 and substitute it for bog-standard rubber gloves) or run out the door in a very hot, rather summery, New York minute. Can’t you see it?
