ABC Bakes: Chocolate Espresso Cupcakes

16 September 2009 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

I’ve long had an infatuation with cupcakes:  p e t i t e  versions (and far more adorable and less in calories) of their cake counterparts. I must admit I do watch Martha Stewart religiously, following her cult-favorite “Cookie of the Day” & weekly cupcakes special. Mm.

Alas I perfected my recipe for the (in my humble opinion, of course) the most moist, double chocolate cupcakes. (With chocolate frosting of course). My secret? Adding a good amount of instant espresso into the batter. It’s no revelation of any sort, but I am allowed to bask in the euphoria of a domestic goddess after producing such delicious goodness.

So I’m a bit proud at the moment. (:

.   .   .

P.S.: Do ignore the Easter paper liners, I was out of normal, non-seasonal ones (currently on the hunt for brown liners!)

P.P.S.: I failed to mention earlier how much I adore Meream & her craftiness; check out my personalized scrap-link via her blog; it is so me! Thank you thank you thank you, love!

bisous, xx

These look fabulousss though (and I’ve been craving chocolate like mad lately, so this is just not helping).

Yummy! I always preferred cupcakes to regular cakes. Not only because, as you mentioned, of the calories but also due to them being so much incredibly cuter.

Oh gawd…Cupcakes..they look so delicious~~ [I’m going to have to try the expresso tip one of these days] Yesterday, I just helped myself to a Cheesequake Blizzard [not really home made but..oh well] after working out. Yay meeeee…..ahahaha

    Enjoy the cupcakes!!

p.s. One of my new found friends recommended to add bacon bits to [chocolate chip?] cookies. He said the saltiness+sweetness was interesting but great. Another thing for me to try..but passing on to you! >;D

man those are making me hungry. I love mini cupcakes too b/c you get the indulgence without eating too much. I love the cupcakes my cousin makes – she’s a professional caterer and chef (you can see her goodies here – http://bahbakedathome.blogspot.com/) and my fave is when she injects the mini cupcakes with fillings inside. She does lemon curd, sour cream, mocha – you name it! And all different combos too of icing and toppings….now I really want some thinking about it.
