designer spotlight | kimberly taylor

Few designers have ever truly grasped the entire aesthetic of New York City; collections are usually too put together and not hip enough (it killed me to use the word), or too hip to ever seamlessly interweave itself into wardrobes with only black, tailored pieces. The perfect balance is something difficult to achieve. Edgy, but sophisticated and timeless.

Kimberly Taylor, a twenty-five year old New Yorker, had captured the essence of the city with her minimalist-chic aesthetic. I’m but a recent fan – but a huge one, regardless – loving how classic yet modern each piece is. It personifies the youth of New York City: sophisticated, simplistic, and easily worn from casual work meetings at Starbucks to an evening out with the ladies. I’m quite in love with the tie-dye prints (who knew?) and dresses with interesting cutouts. It’s quite sexy. I like.

Lucky for you darlings, you get a 10% discount off your entire purchase just for reading this wee little blog of mine. Just enter “LACOUTURIER” for the discount code, and voilà!

Shop at Kimberly Taylor; enter “LACOUTURIER” for 10% off until May 25th when then sale ends!

♥

bisous,

La C.

Cute pieces! I agree with your surprised feeling about tie-dye as well; I always assumed it was too hippie for me to enjoy, but the new tie-dyes have a more futuristic, fractal quality to them that is modern enough for me to love.
