Diane Von Furstenberg Spring 2009

11 September 2008 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

I’m sorry for such a brief post (must be a relief for you since I do tend to write more than necessary!). I’ve been pretty busy lately with schoolwork and such, but I had to take a moment to look at all the Spring/Summer runway shows (each one is so beautiful!) Diane Von Furstenberg’s was one of the earlier ones; her collection caught my eye, with brilliant patterns and wondrous colors ranging from whites and olive greens to bold yellows and oranges – very DVF. She seems to be returning to her earlier, flowy silouhettes, since at one point in previous seasons, her work was increasingly gaining structure. This collection differed much from her usuall prints; the dresses and blouses are more ethereal, almost a bit fairy-like. Need I mention that the hair pieces are simply divine? And that blue bag, the classic wrap dress turned handbag is one I need. Not only is it roomy enough to carry everything, but the color is perfect for spring and it come’s with a small clutch! Of course DVF would create such a versatile bag; after all, she is one of the few designers that understands a woman. The bag goes from day to night, the larger to lug around, and the small clutch for evenings out or parties – all in one. Before I continue to ramble on, here’s my collage of favorites from DVF’s Spring/Summer 2009 RTW collection. After all, pictures are worth a thousand words.

xoxo.
