Everything’s Coming Up Rosie

1 August 2011 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. A sartorial godsend for inspiration, always, from her insouciance in casual outfits snapped by paparazzi to red carpet looks which never cease to captivate onlookers (her Transformers 3 appearances are a prime example).

Creamy, open knit sweaters thrown over denim cutoffs paired with suede ankle boots are the ultimate summer uniform. Breathable whilst offering adequate protection from UV rays (always a plus) and allow for seamless transitioning in and out of air-conditioned interiors to the hot hours makes it ideal. And boots instead of sandals? A breath of fresh air.

A note to self: must invest in a pair of classic Ray-Ban aviators.

Also on rotation are an assortment of tissue-thin tees paired with pants. Rosie has me pining after a pair of khaki green skinnies to add to my basic dark wash and black denim repertoire—a color perfect for both summer and fall as a basic with a subtle touch of current trends.

And her affixation with Alexander Wang’s Rocco bag is undeniable. I never was a fan of the duffel despite its cult status (given that the studs annoyed me as a trend phenomenon), but it’s growing on me. It’s the Louis Vuitton speedy, undone, for the days you want a bit of unpretentious edginess. While I’ve never seen the bag in person, pictures render the leather buttery soft—always an irresistible factor, and seeing it draped in the crook of Rosie’s arm or over her shoulder makes it a bit more covetable. I’m not a fan of the camel, if only just for the color, but the greyed taupe with rose gold (!) studs is incredible. Far more feminine and less androgynous or grunge in comparison to its original, black with antiqued, silver hardware.

I really like the beige Rocco bag. Granted it is consider an current trend but I feel like the style will stick around. Rosie is so pretty in just about every picture.
