Fitting Room Confessionals

11 January 2012 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

Snapped in Express‘ fitting room. I’ve always had my eye on their collection of bandage skirts simply for their incredible array of color selection (because I’d obviously pick up anything besides neutrals…) and the heavy weight of their knit. I hate how women’s clothing are so flimsy these days, things go into the wash a few times and come out disintegrated. What happened to affordable, good quality clothing?

But as usual, I digress. Couldn’t resist trying this number on as it instantly brought to mind something Matthew Williamson meets Tim Burton. How so, you ask? Not quite sure—perhaps the strong graphic and slightly psychedelic arrangement is to blame for the description. Trust, it made sense in my head.

Pulled over my turtleneck and paired with the suede ankle boots from my original outfit. The skirt, unfortunately, did nothing for my waistline or derriere.

Le sigh.

I actually think that looks great on you…. might just have to stop by my local Express and check it out 🙂 I agree with what you said about the quality of Express, I got a black bandage skirt over a year ago on sale and it’s still holding up nicely! The only problem is how they tend to ride up…

      Thanks hon! You’re the sweetest.

And ugh, I know. The quintessential problem with all things bodycon. The only solution? Tights. (But I prefer a bare leg a la Carine Roitfeld….) x

I think that skirt looks pretty amazing on you! and I love it, I love anything bodycon. I agree with the fact that clothing seems to be so flimsy these days, oh well can’t really do anything about it.
I was on Laura’s blog (buy now, blog later) and she had posted a Tom Ford documentary and for some reason it just reminded me of you and I thought you would enjoy this video too! lol so thought I would let you know! 🙂 and if not then ignore this completely haha!

Aw you are far to sweet!

And funny that you mention it! I just watched it the other day, and I adore it. I’m iffy on Tom Ford though, I adore the unabashed sexuality, the taste, the perfect touch of tacky gone right, but I can never stomach the “vision” in his marketing campaigns. Be it him or his team/manager/director, there’s something eerily misogynist…

Still love the doc though! x
