Five Things (11.25.22)

1. Our inboxes and feeds are flooded with sales. I’m jaded at this point; most of them aren’t even worthwhile, to be honest. Few are (as someone with insight to marketing calendars: wait for end-of-year promotions when everyone’s trying to make space for new-year-new-you-themed merchandise or even midyear clear-outs), except the following:

2. Burned through the final hour of my Flamingo Estate Adriatic Muscatel Sage Candle yesterday while (finally) reading Sheila Heti’s Pure Colour. Thanksgiving has been the first holiday I’ve actually taken off and refrained from answering emails! This was the quiet my brain needed and took full advantage, with much gratitude.

3. I recently had the pleasure of trying Byredo Liquid Lipstick Vinyls for Editorialist; you can read the review and see my favorite shades here. They’re gorgeous. Definitely worth splurging on and make for great gifts, too.

4. Deux vegan cookie dough is another recent indulgence, borderline obsession, of mine. Pink Frosting and Space Brownie are my favorites, and of course I eat them by the spoonfuls straight out of the jar.

5. More things worth consuming: Netflix’s Wednesday, “Bande à part,” and SSENSE’s editorials. Only the first is new (and really, really good), the other two are on my weekly to-listen/to-read list.
