Five Things (5.30.25)

summer skincare routine tray kimberlypearl

Wearing (L-R): Makeup by Mario Neutral Peach SurrealSkin Setting Powder + Bottega Veneta Acqua Sale + Soft Services Smoothing Solution + Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream + Biologique Recherche Biomagic Mask + Aesop Avail Body Lotion SPF 50 + Ciele June Blush + Protect SPF 50

1. A week in Florida meant I had to fast-track transitioning out of my spring skincare routine and into a summer-proof regimen well before Memorial Day weekend. Here’s a peek into my heroes for the season—and this deeper dive on Editorialist outlines everything I packed to combat the 90-degree heat and humidity.

2. My L.A. apartment is slowly becoming the creative cave of my dreams. Piles of books, now stacked with more things to be read (marinating in mystery until the perfect mood arises!) than actually finished; perfume strips; notebooks for every part of my brain; lab samples clustered by category on any flat surface; bottles of perfume to be tested and catalogued; a dish of plant-based Reese’s peanut butter cups (which finally exist) within reach; trinkets from loved ones.

If my 12-year-old self could see, she’d be elated. Outside of making my parents proud, she’s who I work for.

3. I’ve always loved the Ferragamo Hug silhouette, but because I own The Row Margaux 15 and prefer smaller bags with closures of some sort, I’ve never actively considered adding a Hug to my collection. The calf hair version completely changed my mind; I’m not sure when it was introduced, but I only just came across it this month. Only a few weeks of contemplation were needed, and I surrendered the moment I returned to L.A. It’s perfect: polished in silhouette for daytime (likely better suited for fall and winter), but apropos year-round for evenings because of the textile’s silhouette.

4. Belnu Chai Fleur opens like Victoria’s Secret Heavenly, the perfume I wore all through high school and into my first year of college. Markedly exquisite—there’s more complexity and a profound smoothness to the blend—but still so nostalgic.

5. A recent realization: I found myself in L.A., and became my best self in L.A.
