Gryson, Gryson, Gryson

23 March 2009 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

I have fallen in love – with yet another bag, of course. Bags, plural, for that matter. Or shall I just say with one brand in particular? Gryson has indeed claimed a portion of my heart with it’s Spring/Summer 09 collection on handbags. Whilst browsing about online for a [potential] new spring bag (a.k.a. drooling over bags, but not actually purchasing), I came across Gryson. Unaffordable for a humble self-made bloggerette like myself, but generally speaking, seems affordable for the general assortment of bloggers out there. Is the price tag worth it? Oh yes. Oh, yes.

gryson-tutu-double-zip-bag-in-purple1The Tutu Double Zip in Purple (shop.gryson.com; $955) was the first to have stolen my heart. It was its vividly obnoxious (I mean this in the best way possible) fuschia color that caught my eye; I can only imagine how fabulous it would look with my all-black ensembles. The perfect pop of color is through an accessory, non? After looking at the charcoal version, I knew it wasn’t the color that made it so covetable. I have a penchant for satchels, preferably leather ones on the larger side with multiple zip components and a top handle. And with all those characteristics in addition to a removable shoulder strap, I have made my bag match. It meets all the requirements I have for a bag, with five gold stars (well, silver, since I do prefer silver hardware over gold) in the categories of practicality and aesthetic appeal. The fuschia is unbelievably gorgeous, and slightly rock ‘n roll in the unconventional feminine pink; the charcoal is oh-so-sophisticated, making it the perfect everyday bag. I’d love to own both. I will own both! I am quite determined here.

gryson-tutu-double-zip-bag-in-charcoalGryson’s totes are quite lovely as well. The Sevillana Twistlock in Buff (shop.gryson.com; $855) is so versatile, wearable and pair-able for any outfit at any given season. It acts as the perfect tote for work or school in the autumn, the brown neutrals reminiscent of the fallen leaves. In the summer it becomes a sophisticated beach tote, pulling an outfit of a loose tank, denim cutoffs, and brown gladiators together for an elegant ensemble along the boardwalk. I love the gradient color blocking from chocolate brown, to chestnut, to cream. Gorgeous.

Bisous,

La C.

That last tote is PERFECT for me!! I must buy it for work!!

    I think I shall.

You have, once again, convinced me to buy something else. You should be a salesperson. Imagine the commission you’d earn…

For once, I’m passing up the pink version for the charcoal gray – trust me, this never happens, I’m a pink-loving girly-girl at heart! – BUT, the charcoal is so perfect! I really love it. If only I had an extra thousand laying around, I would totally buy it right now! 😉

i do like the shapes, but i must say, i’m not a big fan of the sheen or crinkle of the leather, personal preference..

i do love the tote though! my next bag was going to have a simliar color scheme! we’ll discuss that soon :]

Michelle: That was the one con about the bags; I’m not too fond of crinkled leather either! But it does kind of remind me of the Balenciaga City Bags. So I kind of grown used to them. Perhaps grown to love it (on certain bags only?). And yes! we must discuss soon! Miss you lots, darling!

Those are to die for. I am in serious need of a new bag. Spring is here, which means bike riding! Of course it also means a shoulder sling type bag to replace my purse. Ah spring…

Oh yes, that fuchsia bag is STUNNING! The problem with price tags like that is that I would rather keep my lovely bag in a climate controlled glass case than wear it around and risk staining/scuffing/dropping/losing it like I am so apt to do.

    Fuschia Fuschia Fuschia Fuschia Fuschia…
What is it about this damn colour? (:

How does it catch my eye and hook my heart and trip me up into needing it so badly? I don’t know. I look at the random pink things I have and I realise despite my monochrome staples and preferences for grey…there is something completely irresistable about that colour.

Which makes that bag look incredibly juicy, vivacious and an addition to my basic must-haves. You pick the best things, my dear! 🙂

I will try and obtain some videos soon and when I do, I will upload them and you will be first to know. 🙂

Haha I love what you did with your name. You shall be SEAH!ui from here on forth!

And I know; what is it about fuschia? It’s brightness? Ability to turn heads and be obnoxious? Or the fact that it’s a grown up version of pretty, pastel, Barbie pink? We shall never know. And it surprised me as well that despite my leanings towards black and grays (I swear we must be twins), I still have this penchant for fuschia.

And thank you! You are the sweetest!

      *Bisous bisous*
