Halloween

2 November 2008 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

Hello Darlings!

I know you have all been patiently awaiting the answer to the second petit examen. The NYC boutique? Sanrio Luxe! Located in Times Square, on West and 42nd Street, it has reopened with a new concept of “cute” in mind – posh luxury. Ornamented with black Victorian chandeliers and lavish furnishings upholstered in black, it truly is a Hello Kitty we have never seen before: all grown up and sophisticated. Sanrio Luxe offers items that were once only available in Japan, Chanel-like bags by the Italian brand Camomilla, Columbian apparel line Mabel Palacio, and Kimora Lee Simmon’s diamond collection. It’s Hello Kitty, couture-ified and glamorous. If only I could make their gala opening… 🙁

And now, how was your Halloween ?

Mine was lovely, walking in four inch heels the whole night. It actually wasn’t half that bad, except the one blister as a consequence. Nonetheless, getting king-sized Twix Bars and Hershey’s Chocolate did make everything better; after all, chocolate is the all-purpose solution to any situation, non?

My costume? I decided to go for the character of Eleanor Waldorf, Blair’s mother and designer extrodinaire, only because she gets forgotten quite often despite her fabulous-ness. I did love her in the pilot episode at the party, with a white blouse, collar popped (for a lack of a better term to describe it), big strands of pearls, and a black dress. My interpretation of it: white blouse, strands of pearls, black lace camisole, a black pencil skirt (I absolutely love its fit and shape; the dip in the middle is quite fantastic & flattering), and of course, black pumps. All easily acquired from my closet and my mother’s (thank you mother for the skirt). Makeup? Red lipstick in Fig by Estee Lauder, nails in Black Wine by Estee Lauder, and a slightly smokey eye.

 xoxo,

La C.

I like the outfit. If it were me I’d wear that to work not just for a costume 🙂
Did you have to explain to many people who you were dressed up as? I can imagine that there are many people (me included) that don’t watch the show.

Oh, such a delight to see a costume that isn’t made of spandex or lycra! Imagine a halloween-party with only fashion-conscios guests? Heaven, heaven…

Thanks for the comment on my blog, by the way!
