Happy Birthday, Marilyn

“A wise girl kisses but doesn’t love, listens but doesn’t believe, and leaves before she is left.”

—Marilyn Monroe

Happy birthday to the one and only Marilyn Monroe! The iconic of bombshells, the hourglass of hourglass curves, the coquettes of coquettes who embraced both her sexuality and was never for one moment ashamed of her femininity. She is, no doubt, a favorite amongst a few other classic bombshells. I had to share this quote (which every girl should live by!) and this Life magazine photo from my tear sheet. There’s nothing more timeless than a black turtleneck, high-waisted trousers, and a swipe of MAC’s Barcelona Red lipstick—the perfect red with a hint of pink.

Here’s to bombshells, curves, and the spoonfuls of Nutella that give a woman those curves. Figures weren’t made of carrot sticks, you know. It’s all about the infamous goodie drawer…

…of pralines and hazlenut-filled chocolates. Obviously.

. . .
