I ♥ …

9 October 2008 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

Helloo darlings!

As you all probably know, Gucci has a new collection designed exclusively for Bergdorf; it’s no surprise. I cannot even state how much I am in love with this limited edition version of the Indy; lilac is the new black, and my favorite color (those are the colors of my walls!). And python + purple is a beautiful combination indeed. Simply fabulous.

I’ve been deprived of shopping lately, although I did make a few purchases yesterday. Nothing too fancy – just basics: a vest, a knitted beret, and a solid colored t-shirt (all black!). I’ve been very much into basic black these past few weeks; black is such  a classic color, sophisiticated and demure. I’ve been comtemplating on adding outfit posts to my blog…what do you think?

I am completely infatuated with this classy yet lightly sexy look. The nude grays and taupes are simply beautiful, especially when paired with the patent gloves. I recently saw a display at Armani Exchange with a similar look (it was actually yesterday!) and fell in love. Get the complete look at shopbop.com. The juxtaposition of a soft knit with something edgier and darker hardly clashes at all; instead, surprisingly, it blends smoothly for a luxurious night out, or a run around the city on a chilly day. When wearing such a strong look, keep the hair natural and a bit undone. Slightly nude lips with smoky eyes will work perfectly with this ensemble; the beiges and nudes coordinate and put emphasis on the statement gloves and the eyes.

The original point of this post was to list my current obsessions. But I do tend to digress a bit, so here goes:

I ♥ …

  • Ankle booties, boots, the whole lot. I am quite in love with these Rubies by Report. Sadly, they don’t have my size (my rather tiny feet of 5.5 – 6 are quite the inconvenience when shoe shopping). But if you’re not my size, I do suggest you invest in these beautiful babies! (solestruck.com, on sale!)
  • Bags. This is pretty much self-explanatory. =)
  • Starbucks. Their frappicinos, lattes, strawberry shortcake, Cinnamon Dolce coffe…yum!
  • Window Shopping online. Only because I know the detrimental effects it will have upon my wallet (rather, my parents) if I do purchase anything. Darn economy.
  • Reading & writing. If you have any suggestions for books to read, to share them! (Currently reading: Dreams of My Father…Mr. Obama is a great writer!)
  • Nail polish. =) I only wear shades of red…pinks, reds, burgandys, and occasionally nude. I’ve only gone a few days without nail polish once. And I felt as if I was naked, sadly.
  • Lipgloss. The only form of makeup I wear. But don’t get me wrong; I do love cosmetics!
  • Dancing & music. I don’t think I’ve ever gone a day without either. =)
  • Matchin OCD. I have this serious problem (as many say). I have to match. I do change my bags every day to match my outfit. And no, it’s not a hassle at all! =)

Do share your obsessions! =) Just so I won’t feel so absurd for having so many.

xoxo.

I’m becoming obsessed with ankle booties as well. And while that Gucci bag isn’t quite my taste, I really love the detailing on it.

Mmmm books, let me think, what genre do you like? I love reading Truman Capote, and I would recommend Breakfast at Tiffany’s and In Cold Blood, they’re both great books 🙂

Love that picture/outfit you posted, and your list of current obessions. 🙂 I’m curious though if Obama actually wrote that book… just having a good deal of insider knowledge I know that most all celebrities/politcians/etc… hire a ghost writer to write their book, they just sort of tell the information, so they may be decent storytellers… but writers, most of them don’t write. 😛

Anyway I’m a total bookworm though, so I’d be happy to suggest some books, but what type of books do you like/usually read? 🙂

I would absolutely love to see your outfit posts… plus they are so much fun 🙂 I am the same way and tend to buy classic colors… I just love the simplicity.
As a book recommendation I would suggest Leonardo’s Swans by Essex or the Scandal of the Season by Gee – Check’em out 🙂

I love music too. Dancing i like and really want to join a club. I love movies too and atm i am obsessed with the mag instyle.

My favourite book is Peaches by Jodi Lyn Anderson, but that is really for my age group so you probably wont agree but a book i did really like was The Paradise Room by Belinda Jones.

Window Shopping online is one of my favourite things to, because I can’t get to the shops whenever i want. Also I can do this at anytime and i can’t just buy buy buy (but if i really wanted something then i’d beg my parents to buy it) Also you can see what your fav celebs are wearing too.
