I Love Surprises

16 November 2008 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

I had mentioned earlier that I love receiving packages in the mail; it’s even more exciting when I get them rather unexpectedly. I do feel like a child on Christmas day – morning, rather – giddy with joy and close to bursting from all the inexplicable delight and anticipation as to what could possibly be under the shimmery, red wrapping paper. Sans the large, metallic bows, the sign of a UPS or what have you postal service box, on my front steps, is very exciting.

Thursday was the average weekday, following a rather monotonous routine. Wake up, get dressed, eat a vanilla yogurt (my absolute favorite), and get ready to leave. Yet upon walking down the stairs, a box awaited, casually placed by the front door. Of course, I ask with a rather blasé attitude as to what it was & for whom the package was addressed to. My mother answers, not realizing my efforts to keep from bursting, that it was from my aunt. My aunt, the jetsetter aunt, beauty director of one of my favorite magazines EVER. Fabulous, young, and already so incredibly successful. I am so jealous.

So of course I was near bursting. And I couldn’t open in the box – school is such a spoiler. I must admit that I did forget about the package for the some six or so hours at school. But as soon as I came home and laid my eyes on the glorious package in red, white and blue, I remembered. I remembered, alright.

I’ve never been so annoyed at the little styrofoam thingies my entire life; just clawing them out (that was a bit graphic – it was more like brushing aside) layers and layers of the white pellets did take more energy then I planned. And alas, a box (two, actually) awaited. And I squealed.

The first?

Chanel goodies, in a lovely logo-emblazened mesh bag.

Getting packages in the mail is the best! And what great things you got!
But they leave the package at the door? Someone could steal it…
Here, if no-one´s home when they deliver, they leave a note and you can pick upp your package at the postoffice…

Chanel in general is the best, but I do have an extra soft spot for their makeup line!!!
