In the Bag: Bottega Veneta Teen Intrecciato Pouch

19 January 2024 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

what's in my bag - bottega veneta teen intrecciato teen pouch in chalk

I know L.A. is more of a shoulder bag than a clutch kind of city—so much so that for the longest time, I left both this chalk-colored Bottega Veneta Teen Intrecciato Pouch and a larger one in Jersey because I was convinced my life in California had no business for a bag more pillow than practical. Now that I’ve toted it across (multiple) state lines, I haven’t been able to stop wearing it with everything and anything once more. Perhaps that very plush factor is what makes it feel apropos for winter; I now have an extra thing to cling to for warmth when the temperatures dip below 55 degrees. Placebo effect, possibly, but I do love the freedom of having a Mary Poppins pouch on me at all times. No plastic bag, no problem; in The Pouch it goes.

Which explains why it’s relatively empty at the moment. I have a tendency to pick up little things on my daily walks and need real estate should, say, a new book, a little pastry, or a pair of vintage earrings tickles my fancy. Currently within my bag, you’ll find:

  • Louis Vuitton Damien Graphite Key Pouch, the only wallet I’ll ever use (and still looks brand new after the last few years!)
  • They Fell Like Stars from the Sky by Sheikha Helawy (translated by Nancy Roberts), a seminal work on the Bedouin women of Palestine. I’m only three essays in (it’s a collection 18 short stories, each of which is accompanied by a beautiful Anna Morrison illustration, but utterly transported.
  • Travel Atomizer, a stunning leather-bound one from Osswald while I was in the city last month
  • Profumum Roma Gioiosa Eau de Parfum, decanted into the above atomizer; it’s a recent acquisition that I can’t stop spritzing at the top of my day and just before bed. I had no interest in the viral Giardini di Toscana Bianco Latte perfume since smelling edible isn’t something I look for in my personal fragrance wardrobe—but there’s no denying a similarity here. Warm caramel notes are present, but in true Profumum form, this is elegant and so well-balanced.
  • Mansion Muzigae Signature Object Water (No. 001), the most beautiful soft-matte lip tint I’ve yet come across—and in the perfect my-lips-but-better shade
