just remember;

Just remember. Cliché as it may be to say, it’s necessary to re-instill the thought in your head every so often. I’ve seen so many women – of all ages, young to the mature – who have always held such strong convictions about their independence and the future they wanted, and suddenly drop everything for someone they love.

It’s a bit sad to watch their individuality fade in the process; a man (or woman, whomever you prefer), is not worth letting go of everything you’ve worked so hard for. Yes, love calls for sacrifices, but unconditional compassion is not synonymous to losing your self. Your being.

“Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams. If you’re wondering which way to go, remember that your career will never wake up in the morning and tell you that it doesn’t love you anymore.”

Never forsake your potential in pursuit of love. Be the woman who leads, learns, and loves. Multi-tasking, mes chéries, is entirely possible.

♥

bisous,

La C.

    i couldn’t agree more and being in a relationship for over 4 years, i’ve seen how it can sometimes push you in a shadow of the relationship. but since i am strongly confident and a bit feminist i made it clear from the start that pursuing my dreams is not something i am ready to forget or sacrifice. no way… if my love is true one, he will be able to support me and withstand this enormous energy and ambition i have inside…

    definitely agree maja. im lucky enough that seven years later, i still can follow my dreams but have my boy supporting me, even though right now it means we are living on opposite sides of the world for seven months.. but la c, know the good ones definitely do exist and they’re worth looking for! 🙂

    I agree wholeheartedly. The forever pursuit of dreams and passions is of great importance.

    However, and this may seem a little contrary…

    I also know that when you find love – of the wondrous, true, all enveloping kind – nothing else brings meaning or contentment in the same measure.

    Nothing.

    Thank you for this lovely reminder! It is so true because as they say love is blind, and the self is sometimes sacrificed for the us.
