Red and beige, the color palette of Fall/Winter 2010. Who knew?
It shouldn’t come across as a surprise; both are iconic in their own right, classic, feminine, yet all the while androgynous. Red is the color of the bold, the dangerous, the femme fatale with rouged lips and a coy smile, and beige the color of the soft-spoken sophisticate, chignon and all. Somehow such seemingly opposite colors work rather lovely together. The contrast is just perfect, one offsetting the strengths of the other.
I especially love the two looks, above, of Kate Bosworth. She has always struck me as unconventionally beautiful. Wild, yet sophisticated, bohemian whilst grounded. The juxtaposition of all she stands for is what makes her unique. I admire her casual ensembles – although they are unlike my personal style – and I adore her red carpet looks. It’s always effortless with her. Always. It goes without saying, then, that she is one of my few celebrity style inspirations.
The most important thing about these two looks is that sexy can be classy. To the ladies: remember that. Number one is sexy and sophisticated. Number two is a bit much; it’s a lovely dress, but less is not more.

La C.
P.S.: I really want that entire first ensemble.
P.P.S: Okay. I really would like that dress too. It is imperative that I own both Calvin Klein numbers and their respective accessories. Maintenant. You see, I do like instant gratification.

@Roya: I was saying that the first one was classy ;P

I agree. And just *how* did she get the perfect lipstick to match her shoes?
I bow.
La Couturier says
@Roya: Agreed. If only we all had the time to match lipstick & heels perfectly (; But seriously, I’m ready to rip that outfit right off of her.

I agree, the first outfit is classic and perfect as is her immaculate makeup. The hair though is a bit too messy for such a sophisticated outfit.

god, she is SO beautiful. i was in love with the first outfit until I saw the 2nd. on any other person that would look so scandalous, but she still manages to make it look pretty without being trashy.
