Look du Jour: Ashley Olsen

13 November 2008 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

And the answer, as most of you had guessed correctly, is none other but the Voguette we all love:

Carine Roitfeld! And those Givenchys really are to die for. And if you are wondering the reasons for two shoe posts in a row, it’s because I’ve been having a shoe obsession lately. And I think obsession is an understatement.

Yet another tag, this time from none other but the lovely Nina of Femme Rationale. Another list of six of my quirks/facts.

1. I have a set color palette for nail polish to wear for every season. A bit crazy, I know. But nonetheless, I do. During the fall, I wear shades of soft reds with gold undertones (inspired by the leaves); once winter comes around, I wear darker colors like burgandies & wine reds. For spring, I use pinks and beiges; & for the summer, I use magentas and neon pink.

2. I love philosophy. And I actually do enjoy reading books on them.

3. I absolutely love Walkers’ Butter Shortbread cookies. Simply delectable and a treat in the winter especially, nibbling on these cookies with a Starbucks Cinnamon Dulce hot coffee. And a big book to read, of course.

4. I always keep my magazines intact. I do refuse to rip out of them unless it’s Seventeen or something of the sort – but there’s nothing amazing to rip out in there anyhow.

5. I would love to be on Broadway or have a role in some production (especially Wicked, Phantom, or the Lion King). Not a lead role, however, but in the ensemble – many are always surprised when they hear me say this. Yes, the lead role would be amazing, but all you do is act & sing. The ensemble is what makes the show alive, in my opinion, taking the show from a mere story about the protagonist/antagonist into something real and alive. After seeing the Lion King, my first Broadway show, I fell in love with the beautiful costumes & dancing (the Lioness’ dance was most memorable). But for now, being in school musical’s is enough to fulfill this dream of mine :).

6. I cannot fall asleep without listening to music. So yes, my ipod is playing, all night long. And occasionally I will wake up, around 4 AM (this was actually Monday morning’s incident), with Ashanti singing. Which isn’t too bad, considering the last time I woke up to Tech N9ne’s “The Beast” – a song that is only mildly enjoyable when fully awake and in a hip-hop-ish mood.

And once again, I tag you all! You know the routine: tag someone, link them, let them know.

Look du Jour

I am currently in love with this outfit. The leather jacket, the boots, the hair – simply fabulous.

ashley-olsen-sept-06

I love the laid-back, casual chic of this outfit. I absolutely love her hair; the “s” waves are done a bit blasé, as if she slept in it (no surprise if this was true). The black and white, of course, is the color palette for all things classic. Its a bit glam rock, simplified, with a leather jacket and loose, white tee. The tee falls at a perfect length – the leggings, in this case, are perfectly suited as fitted pants. And those buckled boots? Amazing. The perfect amount of details.

Now I just want to know what kind of perfume she bought in that shopping bag.

xoxo,

La C.

I wish I was so organised with my nail varnishes! I kind of just throw it on in any wacky colour! they are currently glittery pink and green!
and I’m the same about my magazines…I refuse to rip my elles, vogues and teen vogues, but any other ‘none precious’ magazine gets stuck all over my room!

You did a mistake in your name: it’s La Couturière and not La Couturier.

hi joce! i actually have a reasoning behind my name (so both you & my other readers know). le couturier is dress designer, a masculine noun; la couturiere is dress maker, with a feminine noun. since i am a girl (lol) & i had once wanted to be a designer, i formed a sort of melange/hybrid of the word & called it, la couturier.

we are all entitled to a bit of creativity 🙂

I never rip out magazines too – except gossip mags.

I love that look on Ashley Olsen as well, I wish I could go out with slept in hair too!

I love that look, too. Despite what most people think, I love leggings with a longer top and boots or flats.
I just wish Ashley would still dress like that. Her style just isn’t the same anymore these days.

The twins are sooo tiny (short, small bones, statute) everything they wear just “takes over” because they are so petite – the clothing that they pick is not always fitted and it just over powers them! Basically, they don’t wear the clothes, the clothes wears them.

Forget to mention – that in this picture. Everything Ashley is wearing is fitted and she looks great!
