nicole richie 5

Loose, slightly sheer black tanks with larger armholes.

Tucked into a  c a r a m e l -colored leather pencil skirt.

Pointed pumps with cutout-details.

Black nails.

P e r f e c t i o n .

M a i n t e n a n t :

  • Obsessed with the entire shirt-tucked-into-little-high-waisted-skirts thing. Completely enamored; it is my favorite look, forever and always: easy, effortless, and always sophisticated. I think I’ve worn said outfit once too many times the past few weeks; a tee/tank tucked into my black bandage mini (fairly new, but already worn to death).
  • Pumps. I simply cannot get enough of the iconic shoe of femininity and sex. Brownie points for patent ones.
  • After resurrecting old images of Nicole Richie (from tfs, a.k.a. the holy grail) and newer ones of Ashley Olsen’s new(-ish) hair, I have been dying to hack off my hair to sport the longer version of the angled bob.
  • Deep purple nail lacquers, particularly this one by Sally Hansen whose name is unknown to me (there was no label). I love the connotations of the color: royal, mysterious, a bit sultry in an unexpected way. Somehow the shade compliments my skintone too; blues tend to look a bit harsher/unnatural on me than purples with a yellower base.
  • Need? More high waisted bandage minis. Currently eyeing every black American Apparel assortment, specifically this, this, and this. Eyeing, not buying, sadly.

Random  T i d b i t  of the Day:

I’m not one to listen to country music. Rather, I’ve been one of the few on the forefront of disliking it—I am hardly afraid of admitting that. But somehow “You Belong to Me,” by Taylor Swift won me over through the most adorable (yet cliche) music video. And now I’m coveting those adorable geek glasses. Yes, I’m a bit late on the trend, but I’m never one to follow immediately. I follow my own itinerary on the intake of current trends.

bisous,

La C.

I loved when Nicole had this bob, I’ve had it cut just like this.. She was actually my inspiration!

I concur, I am obsessed with the high waisted and tucked in tank look. It’s effortlessly chic!

Agreed-Nicole’s outfit is to die for! I honestly have not invested in the pencil/bandage skirt trend for fear of stepping out on the limb and taking the risk. It is something to think about now…

Anyways, the You Belong With Me video is so “adorkable” I cannot help but smile. It helps that Lucas Till is such a cutie too 😉

Love your blog! I ran across it the other day and immediately bookmarked it!

Yesterday I blogged about a look Jessica Szohr was sporting, a short pencil skirt with loose fitting tank because I LOVE this look as well.

But I’ve got a question, do you have any suggestions for the tank? I’ve got a ton of pencil skirts but have had a hard time finding a simple tank with large arm holes that will look simple and sophisticated.

    Thanks!

Hmm low-cut armholes work better on girls with a small/flat chest imo. It doesn’t seem to work if you have boobage peeking out of the sides of your top. 🙂

Lisa: Agreed! Which is why I avoid wearing them ): But In the case I do, I always have a camisole underneath. Which defeats the purpose of the tank. Hahah (:

Nicole’s look is perfection, very simple but chic <3 Loved her bob but I actually think she looks better now, with the long hair.

Ashley on the other hand, looks so mature (in a good way) with it!

I also love Taylor Swift and that video is so CUTE!

This is the best post I’ve read all week.

    1) I love Nicole Richie and her style; and this particular picture is perfectly divine.

    2) While I don’t like country music myself, I too enjoy a little Taylor Swift – her lyrics are always so cute and relatable (perhaps because they’re written by a teenage girl for teenage girls to listen to).

    3) Geek Glasses that are slightly Buddy Holly inspired have been a part of my wish list for months! 🙂

Ahh, tops tucked into highwaisted skirts is my go-to look when I can’t be bothered to think! Always looks fab =)

But it’s funny that when I was in high school, I thought that tucking tops into bottoms was so daggy!
