Bag Whore: The Marciano Satchel

Behold, the Marciano Satchel.

Someone please buy me this bag.

Never have I resorted to the demeaning, self-deprecating acts of begging and whining, but for this bag I will forget all sense of pride and beg on my knees. Armed with pouty lips and pleading eyes ready to leak a few tears in hopes of evoking emotions of pity in my victim of choice and eventually a sigh in submission in which that lovely person buys this darling bag for me. I reek of desperation, all five spritzes of Victoria’s Secret Heavenly perfume simply screaming it.

For quite some time I’ve been lacking in my posts about bags; nothing has ever caught my eye quite like this Marciano. And so I must have it, for my little heart palpitates fatally fast every time I obsessively revisit the Nordstrom page; I assure you such desperation and urgency in my words signifies a life or death situation at hand. Either my heart will continue beating at such a rate it flies and La Couturier exists no more, or, somehow my fairy godmother/father sends this satchel my way and I live happily ever after.

I exaggerate. But I do like the latter option, as fairy tale endings are ideal in every little girl’s minds.

But why is this bag perfection?

• I love gray just as much as I love black; it is softer, subtle in its classic sophistication, standing out amongst my sea of black apparel. Gray is also a shade of versatility – wearable for every season. Rest assured, the person who gifts me this satchel will have made a practical investment.

• Its large size and square-ish silhouette is of greatest practicality; I am a professed, unabashed lover of large bags (satchels in particular) who packs nearly everything in her purse. My purse is my home, my home is my purse. And yes, I have just used chiasmus to reiterate my ratpacking tendencies.

• I love leather, yes I do.

• I carry my bag in the crook of my arm or on my shoulder depending on the particular day’s outfit or “look” I wish to go for. Dearest Marciano has incorporated the best of both worlds.

• I have an obsession with bags with turn-locks.

• The hardware is unbelievably perfect: silver (my favorite) chains, the turn-lock and the AMAZINGLY unique positioning of studs add just the right amount of detail and trend. Edgy, a bit rock-ish. Swooning over the studs ability to transform this into a statement bag.

• Pintucks and pleats make for a smart, tailored finish. Love the contrast of the aforementioned with studs and chains.
