Not One, But 10 Things

10 August 2009 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

1. I hardly wear makeup, save for the occasional evening event or a ubiquitous dance performance, yet I own boxes of cosmetics. I must admit I have a ridiculous penchant for pretty packaging and lovely pots and pans of various colors. And I am currently obsessed with Lollipop26, a makeup guru on Youtube—I adore her English accent and admire her nail polish and lipstick collections!

2. Whilst on the topic of cosmetics and the likes, I do have a particular penchant for nail varnishes in light, baby pinks/peaches, lilac, taupe, murky purples, dark purples (with yellow undertones), and black-reds. These specific shades are indeed my favorite and are on constant rotation, for I do find them to look best with my skin tone.

3. I do have an obsession with three-quarter sleeved tops. They epitomize sophistication, in my personal opinion of course, and are incredibly versatile for any season.

4. I love being a girl. I do. But my one complaint is not when Aunt Flo visits, but when I encounter vulgar men who decide that catcalling and shouting rude and degrading commentary at me (about the derrière, if we must be specific), I am absolutely appalled and absolutely disgusted at how low these men can be.

5. I adore the Obamas. And yes, I would consider myself to be a supporter of the Democratic Party, if you insist on knowing my political tendencies.

6. People find it quite strange that I enjoy eating plain pasta noodles. Sans the sauce and seasoning, I do find it quite delectable and simple. Why, you ask? I have no idea.

7. My favorite coffee at the moment is Starbucks’ (surprise, surprise) Chocolate Truffle Espresso. So. So. Good. For chocoholics like myself, when a tad of sweetness and a chocolate fix is necessary, the aforementioned drink is the best of both worlds.

8. I adore Olivia Palermo’s style! I have spent countless hours poring over her TFS thread, ogling this and drooling over that.

9. Topshop has officially become my new favorite store. Period.

10. I can dance for eight (or more!) hours straight but I possess not an ounce of stamina that will allow me to run a mile. ‘Tis a sad, sad thing.

Tell me a thing or two about you. Or ten, if you so wish! (:

bisous, xx

I also hardly wear makeup but I have a huge train case full of it, and I seriously find catcalls annoying. I’m always so tempted to go psycho bitch on those men, but I don’t explode like that so . . . it doesn’t happen.

I don’t really like wearing makeup either but I do love the bronzer!! I also hate guys who makes girls uncomfortable by staring at us up and down and also for the rude commentary. I wish there were more gentlemen in this world.

Yes! Topshop is my favorite too! Now we can be shopping buddies! xxooxxo

I loooove makeup and I rarely leave the house without something on or else I feel naked. My minimum is mascara ^^ I love light colors on the nails too, or simply blank nailpolish ^^ Sometimes when I have time I try to do a french manicure but it rarely turns out good xD

My Dear! I am back home enjoying the French weather, after London rain! Thinking of you!
Well, in response to your 10 things, I agree with most, except I don’t really like pasta, nor pizza, nor fries.. I just like raw carrots (hence my little ‘lapin’ nickname!) and chocolate.. truffle coffee sounds like the most delicious thing int he world: why haven’t I encountered it yet in my local Starbucks?? Is it a ‘special US flavor’? 😉 Oh, and the best thing I had recently is the classic Home made Speculos ice-cream from my hometown’s ice-cream maker.. mmmh! (Speculos is a cinnamon-flavoured biscuit)
Glad you had a nice & super stylish trip to NYC! LOVE from the Alps. Bisous!

I share 5, 6, 8, and 9 with you. I love the Obamas! And yes, I am a very plain jane when it comes to food. Pasta with a sprinkle of salt is all I need. I adore Olivia’s style, it’s incredibly chic! Oh my, Topshop. That needs no explanation 🙂 Ah, as for two things about me.. I am at the theatre 24//7; building sets, acting in a show, or rehearsing. Also I’m quite the Tim Burton fan. I can’t wait for his upcoming version of Alice in Wonderland.

I hope your having a fabulous time on your petite vacation! 😀

What a delightful, quirky and fun post – you’ve inspired me yet again and I think I’ll address your question with a post of my own this week. I’ve been feeling a bit down lately (weather has changed in my city from very sunny hot and to rainy and cold) and something like this simple list has cheered me up.

Ah I love this. I don’t really where make up either, but I don’t have a nice cosmetic bag… (I had to get my make-up done for prom at Clinique because I really had no clue what I was going to do!) and same here with the Obamas. I’m non-partisan, but I do support the Democrats right now. After 1) the republicans allowed the people behind George Bush to bring our economy to ruins and 2) they also tried to get Sarah Palin into VP (which, if you think about it, is one bullet away from presidency! -shivers-) I could never support them at this point. Oh and of course the republican assholes in my school who are snobby and (probably) homosexual!

PS on a lighter note I adore the smell and look of coffee, but every time I try to taste it, my mouth scrunches up and I need water!

And for Topshop, they finally ship in France, but I haven’t had the pleasure to order something yet.
I’m french and if I have my share of catcalling, I have to say I was quite shocked during my first trip to N.Y.C. I hadn’t been harrassed like that since I’d wanted to try on this mini leather skirt #shudder# 😀
Besides, they could see that I was a stranger so they were quite taken aback when I told them that I could understand what they were saying despite their bad grammar. 😉
