Where Dreams Are Made

4 July 2024 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

new york city skyline at night. 4th of july 2024

Sending a quick postcard from one of my favorite cities in the world. I’m not one to travel for fireworks but with a view like this—of the most beautiful skyline in the world and “Empire State of Mind” playing—it’s impossible not to find magic in the red, white, and blue.

It has nothing to do with the Fourth, of course. Nothing could be happening across the Hudson and still, New York City would take my breath away every time. (Usually, it’s the steamy sewage and hot asphalt stopping me in my tracks but even so, I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.) And every time, I wonder why I moved so far.

I’ll remember the moment I make my way out of LAX, of course. But until then, my heart is all in on this city.
