Oh, what a beautiful day.

19 March 2010 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

Is it cliché that I am exponentially happier when the weather is this beautiful? Spring is in the air, mes amis, and I like it. There really is nothing more satisfying than waking up warm (instead of freezing) to birds chirping; the warm weather is incredibly uplifting considering the crazy blizzard-then-monsoon insanity. Praise the Lord, for the world (at least the western hemisphere) has been reborn again! (I’m really not one of those Christian crusaders, I swear.)

I’m head over heels with this entire photograph: everything about it – the model’s sassy pose, the styling, the hair, the makeup – simply exude summertime. I’m kinda in love with it all, especially the nineties throwback with high-waisted, ultra-mini denim shorts and floral shirts tied at the waists and yacking away on a stick of Wrigley’s (Clueless, anyone?). Throw on a pair of satin wedges in an obnoxious and potentially tacky, Barbie pink  and so wrong, it’s right. Smack on pink lipstick, et voilà: a kitschy Marilyn Monroe being her coquettish self at the beach.

Say hellooo to my summer uniform.

♥

bisous,

La C.

P.S.: I realize that I’m ahead of myself. Yes, spring has not yet officially begun, but you see what all this sunbathing does to my head? (Sunbathing with 45+ SPF sun block lotion applied, of course.)

Not cliche at all! Actually, it’s been cientifically demonstrated that sun rays somehow (I’m not an expert) affect the brain and make people be happier, though it affects people in different levels (and in a really high level in my case!) Love the picture 🙂

Not cliche! I agree totally. Yesterday was gorgeous weather and such a great day. Today is downpours, not such a great day. You get the picture..

The model is wearing the perfect sheer pink lipstick, and the shoes are a nice surprise combined with the floral top.
