Olympics: 2008

9 August 2008 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

I must say this before I explode. The Chinese Olympics Opening Ceremony has been unlike another…it is indescribable – the beauty, the technology, the choreography, and most importantly, the symbolism. I cannot fathom how amazing and beautiful it has been so far, surpassing all ceremonies that preceded it. Period.

I still cannot make into words how amazing it has been; the symbolism of every act, of every costume, of the order of each act, of every minute detail was planned and executed. I must give credit to the costumes – they were extraordinary, produced in the thousands. The detail and reflection of the Chinese culture fused with that of modernity with each costume change is impeccable.

To commemorate and celebrate 2008’s Olympics, Ralph Lauren has designed a collection of polos especially for the U.S. Team as well as the Beijing Olympics. Here are my favorites (I think I will buy one or two for myself):

I do wish I was in that very stadium in Beijing right now.

Thank you for the comment on my blog!
I an not a designer and I know nothing about vintage clothes!!! I stock and sell small known european lables mainly. Styles which take inspiration for the catwalk and rival high street prices! I would describe most of the styles as something a bit different!

thank you so much for the comment. i have danced pretty much all kinds of dance, but this upcoming year since i'm on the competitive team, i am concentrating mainly on ballet, lyrical, modern, jazz, acrobatics, pre pointe and musical theatre. and in my off time i dance salsa, merengue & bachata with my family and friends. what kinds of dance do you do?

and i totally missed the opening ceremonies for the olympics– im so angry lol. we were to busy driving back from new york 🙁

would you like to exchange links? i will have you up on mine in a jiffy.

yep, it is a ton of dancing indeed lol. that is why i am always so busy, and when school starts, its gonna be extra hard since i’m dancing 10+ hours on the weekdays and possibly more on the weekends.. it is rather exhausting actually lol.

Oooh! This reminds me of the Project Runway Season 5 “Olympic” challenge! They had to create an outfit for the U.S. athletes to wear to the opening ceremony of the Olympic games!
