On a Grayscale

1 March 2009 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

The heart is stronger than you think / Like it can go through anything / And even when you think it can’t it finds a way to still push on, though

bw-4

Sometimes you want to run away; ain’t got the patience for the pain / And if you don’t believe it look into your heart the beat goes on…

… Don’t you know you can be your own miracle.

The italicized lyrics are from “Just Stand Up”; I do find them to be one of the most inspiring songs I’ve yet heard. Every word, every phrase, every message is true. Granted, there are ups and downs in every person’s life. The good can be the best, the bad is the worst. But we must remember that in those worst of times, things can only go up from there. And that if we believe, persevere, and look out with a positive and hopeful perspective, things will get better. As the saying goes, when one door closes, another opens. It’s only a matter of time when you find that other door, quietly awaiting for you to discover its knob and open it. For now, accept, be patient, and smile.

Nothing is in black and white; even what is deemed as right and wrong is all dependent on the individual. The world and all it holds is on a grayscale. Nothing is set in stone; things can and will change for the better. Just stand up.

… If the mind keeps thinking you’ve had enough, but the heart keeps telling you don’t give up / Who are we to be questioning what is what / Don’t give up / Through it all just stand up.

Happy March 1st!

xoxo,

La C.

P.S.: I absolutely adore this editorial. Everything about it is perfection; the color, makeup, hair, shoes, dresses… And those tights! I need a pair like those! Not to mention the shots and angles are so beautiful.

I love her makeup! The first dress is my favorite. Is there a slip under it or is that a trim because it definately adds a dreamy quality that is covetable.

I agree, this editorial is fabulous. I love that it’s done in black and white; but, even more, those tights are divine. As is the dress. Oh, who am I kidding? The whole lot is divine. Fabulous find!

Oh! Typing LC reminded me of this little thing that happened earlier today!

My girlfriends & I were going out for lunch & were somehow (sadly) on the topic of LC. When my friend Kate said “LC” I was like, “OMGSH you read La Couturier too?”. Turns out she was talking about the notorious Lauren Conrad. But you > her!

Haha. Sorry if my story bored you!

“Don’t give up/ Through it all just stand up” I love that. I can’t help noticing how perfectly “drawn” her eyes are. I used to work for —— cosmetics, and I can tell you, that is hard to do. xo

Those are very beautiful images. She’s gorgeous, plus I love the dress, makeup, etc. I really enjoyed what you wrote. I’ve been down a lot lately. This has not been a great year for me. I’ve had my share of ups and downs. It helped me remember that better times are ahead. Take care. Have a wonderful week. Cheers!

I wish I could think positively at the moment. It is just so difficult when you put your all into everything you do and as soon as your starting to get on top you get pushed right back to the bottom. Thats how im feeling right now. Im letting it get the better of me, so I must change my attitude and try to think positive. Thanks for the motivation.xx
