One Language

one-language-simple-luxuries

A simple luxury indeed. Where a canvas bag is finally made chic, modern, and sophisticated whilst retaining its original intentions of providing a nearly indestructible and reliable method in which to transport your belongings. It is simple in its clean silhouette and design: simply a blank canvas (no pun intended, darlings) with a simple inscription or image on one side. Which of course, gives it and unfussy-chic aesthetic, appealing to the modern woman’s need for clean lines. And it is a luxury at its price of $110.00. Surely such price tag for a mere canvas bag is alarming or borderline ridiculous (my heart did drop upon seeing the price) – but we must remember Anya Hindmarch’s “I Am Not a Plastic Bag” canvas tote and its similar price. When the two are compared, One Language versus Anya Hindmarch, it is clear as to which is the more classy and elegant. One Language. Alas, I never thought it possible for me to actually love and want a canvas bag!

It was first the text on the bag that caught my eye; both the tote that read “Haute” and the other “Simple Luxuries” were quite beautiful in its simplicity. The size and the shape of the tote were both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Ah, darlings – but it was the inside that made me fall in love with One Language‘s totes completely. Firstly, anything and everything with an abundance of pockets with zips or snaps is the bag for me – I carry too much for my own good, so organization is a necessity. Point two: The interior of the bag is inscribed with handwritten, inspirational quotes. Simply beautiful – imagine opening the tote to grab something, and seeing such loveliness and optimism awaiting inside! Brilliant on the part of the designers!

one-language-haute

Haute is indeed the canvas bag of my dreams. And yes, I do have fantasies of my dream bag by material; I have the leather and python one, and now the canvas bag, down; it is the exotics one that I have yet to have a revelation about. Back to the gorgeous Haute. The very word itself is just, well, me – it feels quite La Couturier-esque (ah, new adjective); I should love to carry it around to proclaim to the world politely, by way of conversing silently with strangers around me via a cocktail-ring clad finger pointing at the canvas tote that I imagine to be mine, that I do indeed have an obsession with fashion and the likes. And the size of the bag! Goodness me, I can only dream of such a large bag that doesn’t look like a carry-on! It would indeed fit schoolbooks, magazines, my inspiration journal, dancewear, and the contents of my purse with room to spare.  I can only dream Haute dreams.

Please be mine.

Bisous,

La C.

P.S.: Pretty please with petits macarons on top?

So much loveliness<3 I adore the bags, although the price is a bit steep xD But it’s very much worth it if you have the cash to spare! I’ve always loved tote’s after seeing the I’m a plastic bag tote, but this is indeed much more stylish! Love it~

This canvas bag is so “La Couturier”! (Haha, I’m using your new adjective!). Too bad it’s a bit price-y. But I love it!

I saw on Fashion Chalet that she got one! Maybe you’ll get one too? ;] I mean this post is fab & all!

i love the painted look of the word haute on the second set. it makes me think of lofty studios in the tops of old industrial manhattan buildings, where experimental art and swank, minimalist cocktail parties go on beneath high ceilings – a lot of imagery for one bag. i agree that its shape and design evoke a certain something that almost makes it worth the hefty price tag.

p.s. your link is up, dear!
