Rock & Republic Spring 2009

24 September 2008 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

I do apologize for the lack of posts; school’s started, and there is nothing more they love than piling essay upon essay and test after test on us. Anywho, I’ve been in love with the rock and roll/biker chic looks lately; I love the idea of a leather jacket and ankle booties – a strong yet sexy statement. Rock & Republic, king of this rocker girl look (as its name suggests) was simply stunning, perfecting a balance between leather and ruffles for a femininely tough aura. A leather dress would seem too daunting, yet when treated and decorated with a bow, it is anything but! Emmy Rossum seems to adore that look! This season R&R softened its usual look with dainty ruffles and satin fabrics, but adding edge with booties and denim. It was all about a juxtaposition of opposites: black and white, satin and leather, and naughty and nice.

xoxo.

i’ve always loved the juxtaposition of naughty and nice. it’s a very compelling look with two conflicting characters that even thought they contrast, they go together perfectly.

This is a very sexy and edgy collection! That white skirt suit is so hot! I highly doubt I could pull off a skirt that short though….

Great fall collection from R&R. I was thinking about getting a pair of black skinny jeans. Thanks for the idea!

I like edgy and sexy. So LA. When I graduated from grad school in 1982, I could not get a job due to the recession, so I became a better apparel broker. Anybody remember the Tuxedo look?
