A list of things—some sweet, others sweaty, but nothing sour.
How is it August already? There’s a part of me that’s grateful for the start of fall because it relieves some of the pressure of Doing Fun Things™ in summertime, but another that can’t help but mourn its nearing end. I’m not a fan of heat (though I find any temperature below 56° deplorable), don’t know how to dress in hot weather (like most women, it’s a constant battle between loving tiny things and grappling with the reality of the world we live in; the latter tends to win), and prefer my caffeinated drinks hot. Still, I love summer from the comfort of my air-conditioned apartment. Summer is for languid days, easy romances, endless nights. Fall is when reality sets back in.
So, a list to celebrate and remember the best of summer, so far:
- Freshly washed sheets
- A fluffy duvet
- Reading in bed
- Reading on the floor
- Frixion Erasable Fineliners, for underlining poignant passages with peace of mind
- Perfumed packages, piled high
- White t-shirts
- Perfect denim
- First dates
- Fifth dates
- Midday showers
- Body butter
- Warm skin
- Sun-kissed

. . .
