the stylist's notebook | she's a maneater

30 March 2010 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

Nothing is sexier than black and red; think Marilyn Monroe meets the new-and-improved, Grease-ified Sandra Dee. The base of the outfit: a slinky, metallic tank tucked into slimming, skin-tight pants. Add a pair of Yves Saint Laurent Tribute pumps in a bombshell patent red, a cascading fringed, chain necklace to accessorize, and dabble on the rather appropriately named Maneater lipstick – a classic, matte rouge – for the finishing touch. It’s all quite simple really: it’s a matter of fit, color, and attitude. Forget scandalous hemlines – this is it.

Once I get my little mittens on this entire ensemble, anyone up for a night of dancing at Bungalow 8?

Metallic Racerback Tank (Victoria Beckham Denim, $195). | Red Patent Platform Pumps (Yves Saint Laurent, $795) | High-waisted Skinny Stretch Pants (Catherine Malandrino, $385) | Silver Chain Wrap Necklace (Topshop, $40) | “Maneater” Lipstick (Illamasqua, $20)

♥

bisous,

La C.

It’s such a wonderful combination. Both the red shoes and red lips make a bold statement along with the amazing necklace. Simple, classic and fashionable!
