Elegantly Scant

3 January 2014 • Kimberly • 3 Comments

Currently snowed in and I can think of nothing better than sipping highly refined hot cocoa in my skivvies, parked in front of my Macbook. The question, now, is what movie to watch and which underwear set to wear—but no matter! I have my processed (albeit delicious) Swiss Miss! All is well!

Years ago (funny isn’t it; it wasn’t too long ago when I was still a little girl with nary a worry in the world), my ideal snow day would have consisted of a scripted 5 a.m. call declaring that school’s been cancelled followed by an afternoon of frolicking in a puffy snowsuit before OD-ing on hot cocoa and cookies in flannel snowman pajamas. Fast forward a decade later (oy) and I’m noticeably more jaded, less clothed, but not without the hot chocolate. Forget the flannel and down coats, I want my Simona Barbieri!

It’s not often I do “cute” or “sweet,” but if it’s anything remotely 50s or 60s inspired, I’m putty. This Simona Barbieri set oozes kitsch and feigned naïveté all at once. Already I’m dreaming of hot curlers and oversized pearl studs, this saccharine, blush satin set, Wolford stay-ups, and slinking about the house in Charlotte Olympia pumps…

It must be noted, however, that manifesting said scenario may or may not have been (largely) influenced by an Elegantly Scant campaign photo featuring the gorgeous Tiah Eckhardt in the “Nude Bomb” set:

Domesticity just got a lot more bearable, babes.

Shop the Simona Barbieri bra and suspender brief set over at Dolci Follie.
