Stella McCartney showcased one of the most optimistic fall collections of Fashion Month. Clothes were seasonally appropriate and nothing like the extremes we’ve seen so far (i.e., either a dark, apocalyptic statement on post-pandemic life or an over-the-top embrace of the roaring twenties). These were simply looks you wanted to live in: easy dresses, beautiful separates, trend suiting. Shoulder pads are back, jewel tones are forever, and vibrant violets—

Always a good idea.
