Still Life

Every time I’m back on the East Coast, a part of me thinks about moving back. Jersey or trying my hand at Manhattan proper; I’m not picky so long as the city is within reach.

The pang to return was stronger this time around, and it took a few days longer than usual to readjust after landing in L.A. Perhaps it was coming home to rain and gloom that smudged my usual rose-tinted lenses when I’m on the West Coast—or is it time to consider another move?

Hoping that sharing stream-of-consciousness thoughts will help me uncover whether these feelings are temporary—byproduct of a New York high—or grounded in something real.
