maintenant…

dark, smokey eyes ♥ loads of black liner ♥ smudged make up ♥ tanned complexion (which I still have!) ♥ full, berry-mauve lips ♥ tousled waves ♥ a nearly all black wardrobe ♥ three quarter sleeved blouses/sweaters with mini tailored shorts & black heels ♥ lara stone ♥ nars shadows ♥ illamasqua

I-D Lara Stone

{image source: t h e f a s h i o n s p o t }

It is undeniable that Lara Stone is a cult-favorite. S e x y  in that inexplicable, almost deviantly unexpected. Regardless of your inclination, she undoubtedly looks  s t u n n i n g on iD ‘s cover (November 2008). Yes, I think you’re sexy too.

Currently perusing the Illamasqua site & Sephora.com for Illamasqua goodness – drooling, lusting, and desperately wanting to try their lipsticks. Unbelievable concept (“makeup for your alter ego”), packaging, colors, and quality. (Bummed because Illamasqua isn’t sold at my local Sephora – I only trust my own swatches!) Or so I’ve been told.

Suggestions?

♥

bisous, xx

I do love Lara, she has this undeniable cool factor, plus her wink is incomparable. 😉
    No wonder why it’s titled the “God’s Gift” issue. . . a-men.

I’ve recently being trying to mix up my makeup routine, with purple smudged eyes and nude lips. I love the idea of berry-mauve lips. What lipstick would you recommend?

    About her smile >

the tiny gap between her teeth is called in french “dents du bonheur” ( Teeth of happiness). Just like french singer Vanessa Paradis.

Lara is stunning! I’m crazy about messy, wavy hair right now as well. It’s perfect as it takes a lot less time that straightening my hair. Oh, and I would love to try out berry-mauve lips. Sounds fabulous.

Love her look in this…. it does look so natural, despite the obvious make-up. I guess it’s more ‘effortless’ than natural. Haven’t heard of Illamasqua but must check it out! With my luck, the Sephoras over here won’t have it either. And I agree with having to see swatches in person. Colors don’t really come across well via the computer screen!

I’ve swatched Illamasqua lipsticks on my hand at Sephora in NYC.

All I can say is Oh. My. Goodness. They are the most amazing things I’ve yet seen/tried! you’d loooove the packaging!

I currently have Wanton, Liv, Liar, and Obey (I went overboard, I know). And I highly, highly recommend them!!

You know how much I like things “on the cheap”. Here’s an idea:
Book an appointment with a make-up artist from your favorite line (Mac, Prescriptives, Chanel, Shiseido, whatever) at your favorite department store.
Make-up lessons are free, but it’s a good idea to buy at least a lipstick or a powder.
Then make a bee line to your favorite drug store, and stock up on the rest of what you need to complete the look. Rimmel makes great eyeliners, and Cover Girl professional mascara can’t be beat.
