There are pros and cons living in a country defined by mass consumerism (#Murica) during a time of unbridled self-indulgence. I have a number of problems with it, actually—including (but certainly not limited to) lack of conscientious shopping, waste, contributing to unethical production/labor/etc., forgoing all sensibility and financial smarts, etc.—but I also know I’m lucky enough to have limitless access to all the things*. I’ll be the first to admit that I like things; if anything, my regular ‘Lust Lists‘ are proof that I’m human… with above-average (but still reasonable, I’d like to think!) hedonistic tendencies. Retail therapy is so my jam.
