The Topshop Wish List

1 April 2009 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

topshop-opening

Date: April 2, 2009

When: 11:00 a.m. Be there early!

Where: Topshop on Broadway and Broome

If only I could be there. Then I’d be entitled to first dibs on the Kate Moss for Topshop Collection and a few other goodies I’ve had my eye on for quite some time. It would be the perfect shopping excursion: celebrity sightings, beauty treatments, snacking on sweets, and grabbing shamelessly from the racks and shelves – all in time to beats provided by special guest DJs. Fabulous, no?

topshop2

  • Selena Snake Lace Up Shoes in Nude, $125: The most beautiful shoe, near the rank of all footwear in the YSL’s Tribute Collection, I’ve yet seen. A bit ballerina-esque in it’s lace up and slightly pink-nude shade, reminiscent of Michael Kors Spring 2007. That, and a bit Christian Louboutin with its python print. The perfect spring shoe to pair with cropped denim, short shorts, or body con dresses. Feminine, pretty, and light, with the ability to be dressed up or down.
  • Kraze Cut Out Detail Shoe in Black, $90: I never thought I would fall for a pair of brogues. But these aren’t any brogues; what differs from the older, sometimes tackier version is the square perforations all over the shoe – making it a bit more modern whilst keeping the classic shape. Another perfect shoe for spring; airy cutouts equal ventilation in those humid or hot days, and can be worn with pants and denim of all sorts and cuts. Highly covetable on my list.
  • Circle Tee in Black/White, $32: A must have basic. It is of the most perfect and versatile cut; a slight hint at cleavage, with the rest of the tee loose around the body. It’s light, airy, and oh-so-practical. Making it the ultimate basic to wear (or layer over) without an extra ounce of thought needed.
  • NYC Oversized Tee, $44: Never have I ever wanted a tee so much. But then again, it is not just any tee; what basic tee has the most interesting, asymmetrical and fluttery sleeve length? A simple yet effective print? And a perfect cut that allows it to be worn with denim, jean shorts, pants, body-con skirts, or leggings? This one. I am highly considering purchasing this (if only S&H wasn’t needed…).

topshop1

  • Leopard Frill Mini Skirt, $65: Sooo adorable. I fell in love with peplum skirts since I saw Alexander McQueen’s LBD earlier this year. But oftentimes such a silhouette is unflattering on an hourglass figure with a derriere, so this toned down version makes it so much more wearable. I adore everything about it – the leopard print in in unconventional shades of pale pink, gray-taupe, and brown; the shape of the skirt itself; and the playful element it would add to a solid colored tee/tank.
  • Stone Facet Collar in Cream, $85: A bit like Lanvin’s jewelry on the Spring 2009 runway. The alternative to the gaudier statement pieces, the light, cream colored stones give the entire necklace an ethereal spring. Ideal of spring.
  • Matt Look Bodycon Mini Skirt, $50: The most perfect skirt ever. I want it. I need it. Its presence in my closet would make a world’s difference, without a doubt. The shinier fabric is the more flattering and classic version of the leather mini; the exposed zipper? Perfect. Practical, versatile, edgy, and sexy.

Bisous,

La C.

P.S.: I realized I used “perfect” too many times for my own good… Where art thou, dearest, dust-encrusted thesaurus?

Yay! Maybe Topshop’s opening has the power to reverse the economic recession?

    Maybe not.

    Love the blog as always!

Love the tees! They look so simple, comfy & versatile! The neckpiece is cute too! But US$85 is quite steep for Topshop! 🙂

Topshop is nice but honestly it is quite expensive for what it is.
I have a question by the way : I fell in love with a Korcula ring. But I do not see any sizes on their website. Are they in a unique size ?
    Thank you ! xxx

Hi there-fab picks my dear, I’m loving the white tee with the writing best!! I bought a skirt online at Topshop yesterday, similiar to the last one, but in a ribbed style, but the quality is no good, so I’m returning it. I so wanted a decent black bodycon skirt, so I’m still on the hunt!

Haha, this is just the beginning…! Believe me Topshop has the addictive potential of choc & chip ice-cream, soon your room will be invaded by their amazing platform shoes and irresistible silk dresses… I confess it is my case! I used to make trips to London only for that and I know many French who still do! 🙂 x x

oh my god, that bodycon leatherette mini needs to jump into my closet like right now! i’ve been looking for a good leather mini everywhere, especially in the thrift shops–stores here in the tropics don’t typically carry leather (not applicable to the weather), but hopefully the local topshop will offer it eventually, and for a discount, of course.

just encountered your blog and i’m enjoying your reviews and commentaries! hope you could drop by mine as well.

    much love

I really love those nude stilettos but damn if I can pay $90 for a pair of shoes. I just paid $70 last month, because I was “head over heels” with these shoes but that killed my budget entirely!
