Things I Love Thursday

3 December 2008 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

Hello, darlings!

I do hope you all are having a wonderful week. Mine’s just been a bit stressful, with projects and tests every so often. Other than that, all has been just peachy. And here’s to the second TiLT list – I do love that it has arrived just when I needed a bit of a pick-me-up. Here’s to Thursdays, the day that’s one day closer to the weekend.

things-i-love-2

I just received my Barnes & Noble order! I do get very much excited when I order books online; now I have something to pour over. An excuse to relax, I call it, whilst educating myself. My fingers are itching to look through Nina Garcia’s The Little Black Book of Style (already the illustrations are wondrous!). And I am dying to read Le Petit Prince. I had ordered the original in hopes of improving my French (it’s one of my aspirations: to be able to speak/read French fairly well. At least well enough to understand Vogue and Elle Paris without just blindly flipping through to look at spreads.

These bullets make me happy. I love hearts 🙂

All of your encouraging comments have truly made my day on a daily basis. Long (Hui & Rachel 🙂 I really do love you ladies!) or short, I do enjoy them all!

Listening to Natasha Bedingfield’s song Wild Horses. It’s so incredibly beautiful.

wild-horses1

Wild horses I wanna be like you//Throwing caution to the wind I’ll run free too//Wish I could recklessly love, like I’m longing to…

Bittersweet, but nonetheless, beautiful. And this photograph, too, from French Glamour just fits perfectly with the song. The vintage wash, the ethereal qualities, & the innocence was all captured in perfection.

Decorating the Christmas tree! It’s quite the long process – but I hardly mind.

Polyvore-ing. And yes, I did just make it into a verb. It is quite addicting & fun to make little outfit posts of clothes I wish I owned.

Baking! I just found some lovely, lovely recipes for cupcakes – I cannot wait for an occasion to arise so I can try the pink velvet and lavender one!

Making mental wishlists of what I would love to receive for Christmas. Perhaps it is a tad early for such wishful thinking, but I am entitled to dream, aren’t I? And it is quite fun. This is when the “if only”‘s come about…

Waking up abnormally early in the morning and drinking a nice cup of hot tea. Eating a hearty breakfast and enjoying the luxury of taking my time to get ready is relaxing, as opposed to every other day. It’s a change of a scene as well; it’s much quieter – for once, the world is at rest, letting their dreams and imagination breathe. It’s such a pity knowing that so many dreams and aspirations are shackled by society’s perception of this so-called practicality.

heart3 Watching, and dutifully re-watching The Devil Wears Prada. I’m pretty confident in saying that by now, I know a majority of the greatest lines by heart.

xoxo,

La C.

TiLT? I think you don’t know how much I love acronyms. And to stumble upon brilliant ones, literally make me jump for joy and wish I could have thought of it myself! So freaking cool. 😀

And your comments, La Lovely, always bring joy to us too! I appreciate everything you’ve done, from really engaging in our silly posts and just being the sweetie that you are. I mean, because of you, I now have a new name! Hahaha…

    “Eloise”, signing off! :p

P.S. Pink hearts are love. Who can resist them? I think of raspberry macarons and balloons. Yay for pink ♥

    What a lovely list!

If you want to improve your french, I recommend any book by Amélie Nothomb, she’s amazing, her books are really fun and easy to get. I love her!
