Things I Love Thursday

things-i-love-thursday-christmas

heart5 That it’s Christmas in exactly one week! 🙂 I’m crossing my fingers in hopes that we will get a white Christmas! And I have yet to decorate my plain little tree…

heart5 I actually won a giveaway!! It’s a first – every time I enter one of those little contests and whatnot, my chances of winning or slim to none. I’m so incredibly excited since it’s a loot-full of nail polishes, and just in time for the holidays!

heart5 One of my articles will be published in Dujour‘s print magazine – be sure to order a copy once the holiday issue comes out!

heart5 I got an email about Chanel’s new nail lacquer collection, Paris Moscou. And i so desperately want all three – they are, no doubt, the perfect shades for the holiday season, as well as the fall & winter months. Perfectly shimmery, in deep jewel tones – a color palette exemplifying the rich and the glamorous. Yet when I did the math, I would end up having to whip out $90 for the three polishes. So I just might have to pass, in hopes that someone (Santa darling, I have been quite good this year!) will buy me one of them… ($30 each, chanel.com)

heart5 Holiday parties, Christmas get-togethers. Because this is the time when I can finally actually slow down, breathe a bit, and relax as I catch up with friends and family. And the perfect excuse to dress up in sparkles and sequins, all dolled up. If you have no idea what to wear, don’t fear – La C’s here (I apologize for the corniness). An article on what to wear will come rather soon, but if you have more specific questions, drop a comment or e-mail me!

heart5 Getting all these lovely awards/write-ups from such sweet people. And comments, of course! I really do appreciate them from the bottom of my heart; each and every one mean a lot of me, serving as a source of encouragement. Not to mention, they do, undoubtedly, make my day a little brighter!

heart5 Britney Spears. Say what you will, but I will always be a loyal fan. Of course I don’t approve of things she’s done in the past, particularly during her lowest point, but I blame the media for blowing things out of proportion and publicizing everything! We all have our low points; it was malicious of them to target her when she so vulnerable. But all that is only a thing of the past; after all, when you have lows, you can only have highs later on. Britney’s back. Take that.

heart5 I seriously am in love with Emporio Armani‘s new fragrance, Diamonds Intense. I honestly think this was the bottle & scent made for me (if only…). And why? Because 1) my birthstone is the diamond; 2) I’m in love with all things sparkly & faceted & reflective 3) the design is simple yet so elegant 4) the scent is to die for. Really. It’s near the top on my Christmas wish list, so if you really love me & want to buy me the perfect gift, this will do. Or a lovely bag, for that matter.

heart5 These photos of President-elect (yay!) Barack Obama. Taken during his college years in 1980, by friend Lisa Jack, they were never released/found until recently. They reveal the playfully charismatic side of him in a way words never can.

xoxo,

La C.

I love love love Britney too! And I don’t care what anyone says-I thought Blackout was her best album ever. It probably didn’t do as well because she didn’t tour for it, but it wore a hole in my IPod.

cristine – thank you soooo much! reading lovely & such incredibly flattering comments like yours seriously make my day! 🙂

mrs/m: agreed. blackout is the perfect soundtrack to dance to at a club! i have almost every remix of break the ice! the lyrics are also deep too – i a lot of them express what she had to go through during the past year or two.

baglady – you are always such a sweetheart!

thanks so much for the comment. Really, you do not want the white christmas we are having..and inch or so of ice mixed with some snow on top of what we already have. Its definitely Siberia, already. Usually, that doesn’t happen til January. I don’t know when I’ll get the rest of my Christmas shopping done since my car may stay in the shop forever..it seems. I may have to make do with Wal-greens. I’ll just have to settle for JLo I guess..

    Thanks again.

I already love the fact that the first thing I saw was Jessica Stam’s beautiful face. I absolutely adore her.

Also, the Chanel nail polish is gorgeous! Especially the sort of deep turqoise-y one, if my eyes didn’t see it wrongly. Argh. Nail polish is love.

Congrats on getting your article in print! I will find a way to get a copy of that magazine. 🙂

uberoriginal – i totally agree! their foundation truly is godsent. i usually don’t wear makeup, but when i do, chanel’s teint d’innocence really works miracles, making my skin flawless with a lovely glow! the nail lacquer is a bit on the expensive side, i must admit. it truly is a pity, because i absolutely love that slightly purple-reddish shade!

With the voice of Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly: Darling, that’s wonderful!

Now the only thing is, how can I get my own copy if I live in Norway? And a rather isolated area as well. *sigh* Hey, perhaps they sell it in Italy..? 😉

$30 nail polish… That stuff had better not chip!! That red shimmery color looks awesome though. For now though, I’ll just stick to OPI.

Oh yeah, I put Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 on my Netflix queue! 😛
