Things I Love Thursday

22 January 2009 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

I do feel like I haven’t done a proper TiLT list for ages (well, in blog years, I suppose), so I shall resume the (somewhat) weekly routine! Showing gratitude is always important, but particularly in more stressful or busy situations when you tend to be so engrossed by work that you forget all the good things that have happened. So let’s TiLT away, darlings!

.   .   .

  • The historic inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States of America. No need to explain any further. Oh, and that the lovely Michelle Obama, one of my idols, is now the First Lady. Nothing could get better than this, no sir-ee!

obama-michelle

  • Getting such lovely emails asking advice! As pompous as this may sound, I am quite flattered that these readers came to me for advice. And every question was so fun! So thank you for making my week more interesting, loves!
  • Michael Buble. The man is amazing; I think I swoon every time I hear him sing. In fact, I’ve just bought every album he’s ever recorded for my iPod. I guess you could say I’m infatuated with his voice. Do listen to his albums; Call Me Irresponsible is my favorite – his rendition of Everytime is definitely worth your 99 cents on iTunes.

michael-buble2

  • Getting the latest issue of Elle magazine in the mail! I’m in love with the cover; Kate Hudson looks absolutely, drop dead gorgeous. In that smoldering kind of way, where she makes tailored menswear look so sexy. I would love to own the outfit – though I would substitute the lacy number for a lacy camisole. Stomach exposure may be pretty on a cover, but in real life, I’d prefer reserving that for the beach. Before I go any further on this tangent, I should like to mention that I had flipped through a quarter of the issue and I already love everything.
  • C.O. Bigelow. I love the intense tingling of minty goodness on my lips. The tinted gloss in plum and the gold, butterscotch-flavored gloss are absolutely fabulous. I love that barely-there shine; it’s alluring, non?

michael-buble1

  • Dancing around for no particular reason. Which I happen to do more often than I actually say. If I hear something with a good beat, regardless of my whereabouts, guaranteed, I will start to dance to it. Warning: It first begins as a strut/gait in time with the music. Then it morphs into full-on dancing, with only the slightest restraint since I do keep in mind that there are others watching (not that I care…). ‘Tis such a bad habit – I can’t stop myself!
  • Waking up all warm & cozy. One of the things I dislike about winter is waking up shivering and cold, despite the heap of blankets piled on top of me. But on those days when it’s particularly snowy outside, the heater is on full blast, so I wake up with toasty toes and a smile. A great way to start the day, I say!
  • Dressing up. As in what a woman would wear to the office, that is! Black pencil skirt, stiletto pumps, and a blouse tucked in. And a coat of lipstick. I really would wear this every day if I could!

.   .   .

… so what would you put on your TiLT list?

xoxo,

La C.

I love your tilt list so much! I love the idea of writing down things you love instead of things you hate, it makes you see life in a much more positive way<3

Your way of waking up sounds so nice! It’s so cold here right now and my double blanket doesn’t help much. I think tonight I will put the heater on max.

    My tilt list? hmm
    1. blogging
    2. drawing more

Great list! Hehe I’m a “chair dancer” when I’m at my desk at work–I’ll bop my head and tap my feet and lip-synch to lyrics. Pathetic, I know, but it suffices until I can really let loose on the dance floor and go out salsa dancing.

dancing around spontaneously is so much fun. but what i do that’s kind of weird is dance in my seat. like i’ll be on the bus or train and start humming to myself and then start dancing around in small jerks.

Amen to dancing around for no reason. You should try tecktonik flailing. Very fun. Michael Buble is such a stud, too bad he’s such an ass too. When I worked at HMV, he stopped by and was so rude to everyone. A friend of mine had the pleasure of dealing with his bitchy divaness at a radio station here.
