Things I Love

19 July 2011 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

vogue collection

  • Splurging at Barnes & Noble, because clearly, that’s what all the cool kids do. I skip social events to browse the endless aisles, pause over every. single. journal (!) in the stationary section to pick the perfect one, and hand over my credit card without hesitation when it comes to new stacks of European glossies. Currently enamored with ELLE & Harper’s Bazaar UK—I cannot get over how beautiful the covers are…
  • Eat Pray Love. Still trying to garner my thoughts (which are millionfold) and turn them into comprehendible words. Once that happens, it’ll debut here. For now, however, I’ll stick to the words floating around my head… Enamored. Inspired. Ignited. Etc.
  • Talking to strangers. Your mother told you to never do such a thing—don’t even look at them in the eye. But being the rebel I am, I adore doing it (within reason, of course). I’ve had some of the best/most interesting/most eye-opening conversations with people I’ve never met. I’d say try it, but being the smart New Jersey-an and ex-law-pursuing student I am, I’ll leave it for you to decide—I’d rather not be liable for anything, you know (even though I trust you’re all intelligent people!).
  • Being with best friends. I don’t like girls (my age) very much, and this predilection of mine is explained in my horoscope. Whatever. Stars aside, I do have my core group of friends—sisters—whom I’d trust more than myself. I knew it was solidified once we spent an entire evening watching “Extreme Couponing” together…
  • Zumba. Best. Thing. Ever. With the aforementioned best friends (and on of their mothers), in a class taught by an amazing human being (!). Followed by an intensive toning pilates class? Hurts. So. Good. I. Need. To. Type. Like. This.

I love Zumba! it’s so so fun but I can’t do too much of it due to some knee problems so by mid-class I’m usually done! lol but I really enjoy it.
Bookstores, Indigo to be specific, are really my sanctuary if I’m feeling sad or confused I’ll grab some books and sit in one of the isles and just read. It calms me immensely. I love Elle magazine I’m subscribed to Elle Canada actually! but every now and then when I am in Indigo I like to pick up an issue of Vogue as well.
have a nice day 🙂 xxx

@Nagmeh: I’ve never heard of Indigo – googling it in a few moments! And I haven’t yet done that as I get caught in a book so easily ;P

[…] steps at a time – five if we’re lucky. I’m beginning to regret leaving my newly bought copy of ELLE UK at home; it would have been nice to have some sort of distraction from the ridiculous wait and muggy heat. […]
