The Perks of the Boyfriend Going Away

19 November 2013 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

tom ford boys lipstick collection

What sort of a night do I want to have?

Besides the immense amount of time that has now been freed up, I’ve come to realize that the perks of having the boyfriend going away on holiday are, namely, twofold. One, I am no longer bound to my razor,* and two, all the statement lipsticks in the world can now be worn.

I mean, it’s not to say that I can’t wear lipstick around him (or boys in general). I simply choose not to. Lipstick an inconvenience more so than anything else, especially when kissing is forseen in the near future. And aside from the obvious fact that I’m a minimalist beauty girl with an au naturel philosophy, kissing is much more enjoyable than any pretty lipstick.

(Though I do have a soft spot for YSL’s golden tubes.)

The question now, is less about asking which lipstick I should wear, but moreso about what sort of a night I intend on having. After all, the lipstick (and perfume) you wear is highly indicative of what’s to come. A deep burgundy hardly transmits the same vibes as a poppy shade, or a fire-engine red, or an electric pink for that matter…

Ah, decisions, decisions.
