Je Vous Présente…

7 June 2009 • Kimberly • 57 Comments

In celebration of my 200th post, I thought that perhaps you should meet my  P a r i s i a n  alter ego. You met her here, stamping her Blahnik-clad feet, whining in her soft French accent about how much she wanted that tee. Quite the first impression, non?

Her name is C o q u e t t e . A petite girl with dark locks cut in an edgy bob (much like Ashley Olsen’s longer version of the style), whose name is hardly misleading in telling a bit about herself. But petite is not synonymous to tiny—her curvy figure only adds to her coquettish-ness. She is never caught without sunnies, whether they be oversized Guccis or (her personal favorite) vintage Chanel rounds. That, and a new bag every week (this week happens to be a chocolate leather Hermès Birkin). Coquette’s wardrobe consists of plenty of Wolford tights, bandage minis and dresses, heels, boots, black, Yves Saint Laurent, and an enviable amount of denim. [You can’t tell I’m jealous, can you?] All of which compromise a great majority of her work-drobe as a fashion director in Vogue Paris.

Anway.

YSL Cage heels

At the moment, we are both quite head over heels (no pun intended) for Yves Saint Laurent Cage ankle booties. Patent black with silver heels, in size 35/35.5. Ah oui, I am quite lucky and unlucky; the former because Coquette has the same shoe size comme moi, and the latter because dearest Coquette is never willing to share. Le sigh.

And if you happen to be interested, Coquette is currently wearing a sheer, loose-cut tank by T by Alexander Wang tucked into a studded, high-waisted Balmain skirt with patent flats. [Parisian at its best] To break up the black, she totes around a white Balenciaga around her arm, fingers well manicured in Chanel Madness (a gorgeous maroon) as they fly away on her Blackberry Curve checking her email. Of course she looks up occasionally, her coquettish self batting her lashes at any Frenchman worthy of her infamously pouty glances. Maintenant, she is headed to pick up a few garment bags of Dior gowns for Carine Roitfeld’s editorial in Vogue Paris.

Coquette

We do share a love for all things black, embellished, knit bandage skirts, Balenciaga, and patent. And MAC Viva Glam lipsticks, black liner, and Chanel nail polish in dark colours. ‘Tis a pity Coquette acquisitive about her wardrobe. Le sign no. 2. Ah well, I do empathize; if I had such fabulous a wardrobe, I would indeed keep it to myself.

Bisous,

La C.

Congratulations, darling one! To get to post 200 is a big accomplishment 🙂 And Coquette is even more fun to read about than those mini-stories you used to do on various outfits (but I still miss them, by the way…). One day I’ll introduce her to Music-Airam – they do seem to have a lot in common!

And Coquette’s wardrobe, hmm, I’m sure I’d make a huge impact if I would buy them as gifts. Especially with the skirt (who wouldn’t love to wear a Balmain skirt?), the bag (Balenciaga is always welcome) and the heels (YSL is always there for the shoe-addicts).

I heart both of you ladies. Mademoiselle Coquette does seem to have a rather enviable wardrobe. Impeccably chic all the time, I presume. 🙂

So do tell, where I can find her so that I may try and coax her to let me sneak a peek (and possibly borrow) some of her lovely clothing.

But Id probably get chased out of her apartment by burly footmen. hehe.

Missed your blog, La C! Havent been here in quite a while.
