K is for Korcula

24 February 2009 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

It was here where I declared my love for jewelry brand Korcula. And when I found out that Korcula’s designer, the ever lovely and incredibly talented Lindley knew of this humble little blog of mine, I was overjoyed! After a few e-mails back and forth, it was quite easy to see that she really is the loveliest person. I am quite certain that a combination of a warm personality along with impeccable taste & talent will bring Korcula far!

Without further a due, I bring you Korcula’s Spring Collection, on sale now.

Korcula’s spring accessories fabric swatch; oh-so-fabulous exotics are drool-worthy!

I am quite excited that Korcula expanded beyond jewelry; the Spring Collection now has a collection of fabulous clutches and little purses perfect for evening wear. Made out of exotics, the bags truly stay true to the Mediterranean, exotic mysteriousness of its jewelry. My particular favorite is the Skye Clutch: a stingray skin clutch with an optional twenty-five inch long strap that can be pulled out or tucked in. The shape is so simple yet classic, the structure defined yet rounded for smooth sophistication. The little dots on the skin itself is just the perfect amount of detail and interest, with the spine as a sort of ornamentation. Oh, what I would give to own the Skye so I could pair it with my newly bought LBD. The fact that it is made special to order only adds to my need for the clutch. Oh, the closest & farthest away I will ever be from couture.

I make absolutely no sense when the rest of my mind is dreaming of the darling little bag.

I adore the mysteriousness of Korcula’s designs. Somehow, the pattern of the stingray skin, with that white spine, reminds me of the universe. An abyss of mystery, of beauty; of light, and of darkness.

Another gorgeous piece, this time from the jewelry collection for spring, is the “Laura” ring in rose gold. I shall never tire of large rings, especially when such large rings seem almost ethereal in a lattice shape. Yes, rose gold may seem impractical in that the color is harder to match, but the metal is just too beautiful to turn down. In my mind I see it accessorizing this soft, creamy off-the-shoulder blouse in chiffon for a bit of a Grecian feel. Paired with a slim pear of light-medium wash denim and strappy sandals, it is perfection.

And of course, the Signature Korcula Necklace, which I will forevermore be in love with.

xoxo,

La C.

P.S.: Thank you to Sharon-Rose for also awarding me with the “Unique & Chic” award! =]

Why must you write about everything so beautifully? It makes me forget about my budget & want to buy things right away.

I hope I won’t be rude if I ask this: do you get paid/given goodies to write reviews on products/brands/designers? Because I think you should. ‘Cus on this sweet little blog of yours you write about an awful lot of things in the most AMAZING way that makes everyone want to buy it. And I think that was a safe generalization; I think a great majority, if not all, of your readers would agree on that.

The Bag Lady: Haha – you are so sweet! And not rude at all! No, I don’t get paid or given samples to write reviews on things. I simply blog for me – not because of monetary incentives. I mean, it would be lovely to get something occasionally ;] – but I simply write about what I love at the moment, in the hopes that perhaps you as well as my other readers will share & understand my current obsessions. My job isn’t to sell or persuade you to buy something (maybe convert from “x” designer to “x” designer, lol) – I’m just a blogerette. =]

Oh, what a fickle web we weave. Wasn’t it you, who wanted another bag so bad that I advised you to hock your jewelry and go for it? Ah, so much to covet, and not enough dough. Personally, I love the ring in this post, amongst other things.

    I’m a hypocrite, I know. mwahhhh! xo
