Pure Dark Chocolate-y Goodness

6 April 2009 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

17th-birthday-007

Definitely a unique cake. Packaged oh-so-prettily in a soft gold box.

Pure dark chocolate, save the white chocolate shreds and decorative shapes.

‘Tis a World Class Patisserie indeed.

17th-birthday-008

A close-up of details.

The dark chocolate frosting/glaze (forgive me, I know not the terminology in the art of baking) was perfection.

So glossy and smooth, that I could see my reflection in the chocolate.

17th-birthday-020

A slice of heaven, literally.

Pure chocolate in it’s entirety, from top to bottom.

A creamy, mousse-like filling. Tres fluffy.

With an incredibly moist cake. Brushed with white rum, I think?

One bite and all problems go away.

Bisous,

La C.

P.S.: Thanks for all the warm birthday wishes, darlings! They’re much appreciated =]. And keep those questions coming for the Questions & Answers post!

Chocolate ‘frosting’ = chocolate ganache? 🙂

YUM YUM YUM! That cake looks absolutely delicious!

And once again, Happy Birthday! (you’re entitled to celebrate your b’day for at least one week 😉 )

I just ate a chocolate Tootsie Pop. As much as I love lollipops, this looks so much more decadent. Care to share?

I just drooled all over my laptop. So gorgeous. Party at your place, darling!

    My questions!
What’s always in your bag? What do you do on your weekends? Least favorite subject in school? Where do you live/want to live? If you knew all celebrities, who would you want to be friends with?

I think one of the worst kinds of torture out there is virtual chocolate. I would rather have water drips on my forehead 24/7, than to endure looking at one of these photos of yours. Thanks so much, you’re a real pal, as there is no store open at this late hour. (I’m thinking of sneaking into my neighbor’s house, as her daughter just had a birthday, and there is sure to be some leftover cake)

oh happy birthday sweetie! so sorry i missed the actual day. i cannot believe you are only 17! that is mind boggling. i am a full 10 years older than you, and you seem so much more on top of things than i ever feel. but that is part of the beauty of the 20s… the freedom to be/feel/act a little crazy. but 17 is an amazing age too… a good age for falling in love! that’s what i think anyway… i hope you have an amazing year, cherie!

Hmmm, that was interesting. Looks like somethings will always remain mystery.

I myself has been trying to solve the mystery of the legend that forces you to have “earn it before

having it”, for a wile now. Could not understand much though.

Let me know in case you get to understand the mystery of the Old Hound and the Legend

By the way, good writing style. I’d love to read more on similar topics
