Maintenant | No. 008: Sacré Bleu

I’m quite liking the the color themed inspirational posts. Pretty pictures are always lovely; an aesthetically-appealing arrangement satisfies the innate, human longing for stasis. I quite like the luxuriousness of these three particular images. Couture, boudoir, and French with a side of iced coffee au lait, highly caloric donuts, and sexy men at your side. It seems quite close to perfection, non?

Some thoughts, baubles, and ramblings for your perusal:

  • Currently working on part II of the Defining Style series; I know it should have been published sooner, but perfecting it is difficult. Be on the lookout for it within the next few weeks…
  • The past two weeks of spring break were spent in the ever-so-glamorous suburbia of New Jersey. Usually I would complain (or drone, take your pick) about how painfully monotonous it is, but in reality, it was one of the best breaks I’ve yet had. If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve seen constant updates about dance crew practices (and coffee runs…). Three of my closest friends and I had decided to form a dance crew, which we haphazardly named XYZ (long story short: we couldn’t think of a name, and strung letters together in a coherent, hopefully aesthetic order). We have a competition coming up soon, and hopefully, more performances to come.
  • Dance has officially consumed my life with the end of dance team and the musical. And I am wholly okay with that. Only few will understand my obsession with finding the perfect dance ensembles, sneakers (I never thought I’d see the day I’d love them…), music, dance, choreography, dance crews, dancing boys, etc. My favorite choreographers and dancers at the moment: Kyle Hanagami, Alex Bullon, Ellen Kim, and Geo Hubela.
  • Most  a m a  z i n g 18th birthday celebration with the best.
  • On the iPod: “OMG” by Usher | “Not Myself Tonight” by Christina Aguilera (it so happened to be fitting for my 18th festivities!) | “Like a G6” by Far*East Movement | “Lil Freak” by Usher | “Eat You Up” by BoA | “Energetic” by BoA | “Carry Out” by Timbaland feat. Justin Timberlake.
  • My nail varnish addiction has officially reached an all time high.
  • … and so has my caffeine addiction…
  • I love Starbucks with every caffeine-addicted fiber of my being. And my love is not unrequited either from the rather adorable boys in that fabulous green apron and black polo. Case in point (this would be my on my birthday):

Cast of Characters, in order of appearance

Moi, played by yours truly.

Starbucks Boy, played by none other than a Starbucks employee.

Scene 1: At a local Starbucks, around 2 PM. The weather is quite lovely, finally warm enough to make coffee runs in a dress, flats, and large sunnies. The cafe is brightly lit rather brightly from the unabashed sun, throwing off the usual ambiance of Starbucks…

Starbucks Boy: “Back again so soon?”

Moi: “Yeah (laughs). I only have a slight addiction to caffeine.”

Starbucks Boy: “So the second frapp’s for your date/boyfriend? Even though it’s weird that you’re buying it…”

Moi: “Haha oh God no – it’s for my little brother!”

Starbucks Boy: “Ah; good good. Will I be seeing you again in about two hours? (laughs)”

Moi: “Most likely, as pathetic as it is.”

Starbucks Boy: “Well, I wouldn’t want a pretty girl like you spending all her money on coffee. It’s on me.”

Well, if you insist, darling!

  • I’ve been an insomniac for the past two weeks.

Et, c’est fin!

♥

bisous,

La C.

-i am also loving this color-themed post. it’s gorgeous!
-those donuts are my FAVORITE. so dangerous.
-cute starbucks story, and happy belated birthday! glad it was so great!
-i’m addicted to caffeine too…i had to stop myself from buying an afternoon coffee after my venti one this morning.

p.s. the other day i heard a lady say, “i have never once had a starbucks coffee” and i felt so bad for her i almost piped in and said “you’re missing out!” but then i was pretty sure my comment wouldn’t be appreciated.
