Sextacy

19 July 2009 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

sextacy: (n.) The state of being carried away, or filled with elated bliss upon seeing a pair of a must-have, to-die-for item. Ex: shoes, bags, apparel, accessories, jewelry.

Commonly associated with: orgasmic shoes, shoe-gasms, shoe porn.

As of late I’ve been obsessed with Australian shoe boutique, Zu Shoes. But my love for the shoppe is unrequited; I stare admiringly, I lust, I fuss over the shoes, yet, it only laughs haughtily at the fact that it only ships to Australia and New Zealand. And yet I continue to return rather stubbornly – heartbroken, but longingly.

Never have I ever seen shoes of such perfection; I say that quite definitively without a doubt. Of course I cannot vouch for quality, but from the images the craftsmanship does seem quite sturdy. But the designs – the drool-worthy, swoon-worthy, lust-worthy designs of impeccability leave me fantasizing in the nights of owning each of those shoes. Imagine if I could, some day in the future, wake up to see a closet full of Zu Shoes. My life would be nearly complete.

Le sigh.

Of course the following collages of my dream, orgasm-inducing shoes are all  b l a c k . I do have quite the predilection and obsession for black heels of all sorts, my heart palpitating at the sight of them.

Zu Shoes 1

1. Laverne Platform Pump, $140. The most perfect, lust-worthy pumps my eyes have ever beheld (that is, except the Yves Saint Laurent Tribute pumps). I truly cannot describe my undying obsession for them, as they do combine my favorite elements in a shoe. Black patent + platform heels + croc-embossed detailing. Swooning, dying, and just a tad heartbroken that these will never be mine.

2. Punk Pumps, $80. Helloooo, less-intimidating-version of the Christian Louboutins for Rodarte. It is the class pump turned punk-rock; strappy, studded, and fatally attractive. Perhaps what I would usually pick out, but I must admit it is quite the work of art.

3. Celestial Platform Pump, $140. A combination of the craziest platform on a classic pump – imagine the height! I do love the strip of patent as a Mary Jane-like strap; it is yet another edgy take on a classic shoe.

4. Grazia Platform Sandals, $112. Reminiscent of Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2008 runway collection, I must admit, with round gold studs adorning its strappy glory. Nonetheless a stunning shoe to behold in patent; with denim or with ankle-length leggings the ensemble will be quite stunning for the glamorous hippie meets rock ‘n roll chick look.

5. Melba Wedges, $75. Another work of perfection, much like the croc-embossed Laverne Platform Pumps, only in a peep-toe wedge form. You must be convinced by now that I love exotic-embossed/patterned shoes.

6. Sculpture Wedges, $130. Simply because the wedge itself is quite unique.

And behold the  s e x i e s t  ankle boots…

Zu Shoes 2

1. Forest Ankle Boots, $144. Simply my ideal ankle bootie; the leather seems quite supple (I do like this particular texture), the silhouette parfait, and the strap adding just the perfect amount of detail. Simplicity, after all, is the most beautiful. Je l’adore!

2. Coin Ankle Boots, $90. Postively swooning, at the moment. Perhaps because it reminds me just a tad of the Yves Saint Laurent croc-embossed ankle boots?! Oui, oui, monsieur, je les adore! The vertical boost would be unbelievable, elongating the stems quite miraculously. I can already imagine it with my bodycon, strapless LBD. Stunning, I say.

3. Moto Ankle Boots, $150. Yet another pair resembling my ideal ankle bootie. The quilted texture gives it just enough detail sans the overwhelming factor. A perfect silhouette and shape. Another obsession.

4. Centaur Ankle Boots, $64. Black booties + strap + buckles + lace-ups = sextacy. Math is quite simple, non?

5. Firepower Boots, $200. The sexiest boots I’ve laid eyes on. And by sexy I do mean incredibly sexy; potentially stripper-esque in its uninhibited silver hardware, exposed zipper, endless buckles, and lace-ups. It is one of those shoes in which its execution depends solely (no pun intended) upon the rest of the ensemble, as well as the wearer’s attitude in carrying herself. Or it truly is a stripper shoe. (I still love it, regardless.)

6. Fringey Boots, $120. Another shoe reminiscent of Gucci’s Fall 2008 show: the glamorous, rock-chic hippie. I do love the combination of edgy studs with the bohemian fringe on a classic boot. The shape does remind me of Louboutin’s stunning suede booties.

Shoe-gasms permitted, my dears.

bisous,

La C.

P.S.: This truly calls for another le sigh.

P.P.S.: You Aussies and New Zealanders had better appreciate Zu Shoes, so I can vicariously pretend I own/strut around in a pair. Do I sound bitter? I cannot help it…

Mmm I’ve been wanting some booties. They fit me better than normal heels since my feet are so small.

These are all great…. did you see Nubby Twiglet did a similar show post recently too http://nubbytwiglet.com/blog/2009/07/20/shoes-luisaviaromacom Those ones might be a bit more accessible but they are pricey. I am suffering from double shoe envy. I love all the ankle boots except #6. Shoes 5 &6 (the wedge & the sculpture) are fantastic too. xxoxo

I have the 5 boot…..its is the best thing ever, 14cm high & fits like a glove, I wear them with jeans, shorts & tights or long skirts…so many complements, the most of any item I own, ever.

Wearing the out tonight to dinner & a movie with ripped skinny jeans & a loose T, so hot…..
