What to Wear: Styling The Mulberry Alexa

3 April 2010 • Kimberly • Leave a Comment

I told you I was madly in love with the Mulberry Alexa. This is exactly what I would wear should the darling bag ever grace the crook of my arm: quite sexy utilitarian, non?

The entirety of the  ensemble would be comprised of neutrals, and a juxtaposition of the feminine and the androgynous. Just how I like it. A delicate, semi-sheer blush-colored slip—body conscious, of course (you would expect no less from moi) would be quite seductive on its own. The khaki green parka easily offsets it with a bit masculinity, both in silhouette and color. Strappy Louboutin ankle boots are yet another alluring element. However, its color neutralizes the potential femme fatale element had it been black. Add a silver crystal pendant for a girlish, delicate touch and then a bundle of chains to emphasize the utilitarian aspect, et voilà!

That’s a great look. I love the colour palette: tan, blush, khahi green. It’s almost like you’re about to explore a city, with the lightest dress for comfort and sex appeal whilst stomping the pavement in your heels, with a hint of all things shimmery, glittery and shiny!
    LOVE.

    xxo,
    Natalie

Love the dress! You’re totally obsessed – but, of course, your obsession is completely justifiable. You’re making me want my own Mulberry Alexa!

My my I wouldn’t have thought the Alexa could be dressed so sexily with those heels and that slip dress! Very nicely done.

again, why i love your blog so much.

everyone else would basically “style” an outfit that would be exactly like something alexa chung would wear and call it off as “creativity” and “styling.”

your whole juxtaposition mantra works. it’ll get you far.
