What’s In My Travel Beauty Bag

Just started packing for my trip to Greece and I can’t tell you how overwhelmed I’m feeling about being away for two weeks.

Two. Whole. Weeks.

Packing is the easy part. (I’m Type A when it comes to prepping and organizing; it’s not often that I give myself a pat on the back for anything, but I do pride myself in thinking. of. everything.) It’s being away from responsibilities that gives me major anxiety. There’s so much going on at work; we’re starting a new season for NJ Sensual Touch; I’m directing a new ladies’ styling team soon (!); I’m in midst of real estate limbo… and yes, I’m stressing about the fact that my body isn’t where I want it to be.

What I have to remind myself, though, is that I deserve this vacation. I’ve worked hard (and non-stop) since my first internship and now I’m at a place I should be proud of. I’m going to a beautiful place with my best friend. Separating work from my personal life is paramount when it comes to maintaining sanity (especially if I just wrote over 70,000 words in the past three weeks alone!). And who am I to let my insecurities get in the way of enjoying such a magical experience?

Bikinis, check. Towels, check. Razor, check. Clothing… working on it. Beauty, in the bag. In fact, all the contents of my face—including skincare and makeup—fit neatly into two Glossier pouches. If that doesn’t make minimalists hearts happy, I’m not sure what will.
