I cannot possibly express my joy upon receiving an email and the above illustration from the artist; Only once have I ever had anything made for me, and that was a fabulous collage by the young graphic designer Jaime R. whom I absolutely admire. But this? It is impossible for me to contain how excited I was (and still am, of course) in having such beautiful an illustration dedicated to this humble bloggerette (so I call myself). Absolutely floored, flattered, and so honored to receive. Many, many thanks! (Perhaps this is of Coquette, my Parisian alter ego? (; )
Do visit La Flore et La Faune for gorgeous illustrations, many of which are accompanied by humorous little descriptions. Truly a lovely blog for a few needed laughs to start the day, by an up-and-coming artist! My favorites? The first, entitled Sex Kitchen.
{Translation: You’ve been naughty, eggwhites! You deserve to be whipped!}
And the second: Fashion & Ethics.
{Translation: My way of fighting against “Made in China” is to knit my clothes with Tibetan monks’ hairs.}
